Mario Williams close to signing contract with Buffalo Bills (1 Viewer)

Good luck Mario, will miss you. You had to deal with a lot of crap being picked over Reggie & Vince and still aren't getting your due from a lot of folks. Wish we could have afforded to keep you. Should be interesting when the Bills come to Houston this year.Guess I'll have to get a JJ Watt jersey to replace my Mario one, but I'm not too broken up about that.
Classy.

Sad. Seems like he cares more about money than winning. NTTAWWT, just thought he might want to go to a winner after having played for a loser so long.
The great thing about the NFL is the good teams always stay good and the bad teams always stay bad. It's the dependability of the league that I enjoy.

I am far from a Bills fan, but as a fan of football you have to be excited for this franchise scoring arguably the best FA on the market and one of the top pass rushers in the NFL.
This is where I have to disagree. He's finished in the top five in sacks once in his career. ONCE! How does he deserve to be the highest paid defensive player in the league?I personally have no problem with Mario. I've cheered him on from Section 118 for his entire career. When he is on, he's almost unstoppable. However, half the time he looks un-inspired, like he is just going through the motions. I'm sorry, give me JJ Watt's motor anytime over the athleticism of Mario Williams. I'm glad the Texans didn't have the cap room to retain Mario. I think we'll be fine without him.

Where were you in the 90's when all the Bills did was win? I know the superbowls werent good but it felt confusing when Buffalo didnt make the playoffs every year. Your post is just silly.

And there in lies the rub. He HAS been a top DE. He is only 26. He obviously displays all the attributes to be a diminant force in the NFL. When people look at him, they see all the talent and the proven results, albeit on a short term, and they see that he has been hurt a few times and that he was asked to play one year (before Wade) lining up in an odd position. And he WAs the overall #1 for a reason. In the NFL, the 3 most important positions are franchise QB, Elite DE, and stud LT. All those things are rare and you just saw what price an alleged franchise QB costs.

:goodposting: Brady can't play forever
Maybe Mario can help him with that retirement thing.
As much as I root against the Pats I'd much rather have Brady go out on his own failings rather than Mo Lewis-style.
