Marion Barber - Questionable - SNF (1 Viewer)

What's the general feeling about the injury? It worries me that it's a Sunday night game... I'd love to play him, but thinking I might have to go with Breaston (assuming Calvin plays), Driver, or Ricky Williams. Not sure I can risk a 0 and Choice is already gone.

John Clayton (ESPN Sportscenter) reported that Barber "may play." He said that if he does play he would only receive half of the carries. He added that nothing will be definitive as to his status until he tests out his injury this evening before the game.

SNF GTD is a killer. Unless you have Westy or Jamal on the bench, I can't see how you risk it this week.

Rolling w/ Sammy Morris @ OAK vs. potentially getting the doughnut from MBIII. Even if he plays, we're talking about maybe 12 or so carries? You'd have to get at least a TD or two to make it work and the NYG rush D is solid.

Here's hoping he plays though, cuz my opponent is rolling w/ Choice.

If the decision is Barber/Choice, it is sure sounding like Choice is the right one. At least he gets about half the carries.

If you have to chose I would go with Choice, not only will he get the carries,a good number

of pass plays will go his way.I'm trying to chose between him,Walter and Holt.I don't have MB.

I have LJ, CHoice and MB

I think I'll wait and choose this evening, altho LJ is a little tempting.

Tashard Choice, RB DAL

News: Appearing on The NFL Today, analyst Charley Casserly reported that he expects to see Cowboys rookie RB Tashard Choice start and see meaningful carries against the Giants in Week 15. Casserly reports that Barber has been able to run straight without incident but still cannot make cuts thanks to his dislocated right pinkie toe. He will work out before the game and could be declared inactive or only see limited reps.

Analysis: We'll know whether or not Barber will be active for Week 15 about an hour before kickoff (7:15 p.m. ET) on Sunday. We don't like the idea of playing Barber even if he is active since he's not likely to be effective since he can't do anything but run in a straight line. That might make him a candidate to work at the goal line, but you can forget about much else. Choice should be reconsidered as a No. 3 Fantasy RB for this week, especially in leagues where receptions count.

Thats per sportsline

OK....I'm officially locking in (cuz I have to) with Choice over Barber/Sproles/Leon. Gotta play it safe, especially if you're a favorite to win.

Due to a plethora of injuries at RB for me this season, I am going with Choice or Barber tonight (I have Parker/Moore and Hightower, and those matchups are worse as far as I'm concerned than taking a chance on Dallas' RB). At this point I'm thinking Choice -- too many times I've had a player in Barber's type of position who ends up playing at the beginning of the game, coming out early, and I'm left with nothing.

I have a feeling Barber is going to dress but see limited action, maybe nothing after the first series or two.

If I'm wrong and Barber scores a couple of TD's, I'll be banging my head against the wall as I prepare for my consolation game next week!

I'm gonna go with Choice also,he help push me to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Maybe he can put me in the title game.I'm going up against a really tough team.

I'm in the exact same situation. Had to have the lineup set by 1PM so I put in Choice over Barber. I feel like... at the very least... Choice will play the Felix Jones role tonight. And maybe even more should Barber be limited or OUT altogether. Gotta go with the healthy guy and hope for the best. He sure looked impressive against PITT last week.

Here is the part that worries me about benching him. MB3 just got called out by the boss for not being tough enough. I am not sure if he is going to go or not but there is a small part of me that thinks he jut may go and try to go big to show JJ that he is tougher than nails. Not that anyone with a brain questions MB3's toughness. I just dunno. My only other choice now is D. Mason.

What a mess.

I highly doubt MB3 is the only figure in Dallas that will make the call on his availability tonight. He's not a ##### if the staff holds him out if they think that is in the best interest of MB3 and the team. Even Jones should know that.

Yeah I know. Phillips and the coaching/training staff are going to be in on that call. I'm just sayin.. If he is in maybe there is a little extra motivation. I am leaning towards just yanking him now and playing Mason. I got another hour or so to mull it over.

They just said on the pregame show Barber will be available. They did not say if he was starting or even playing. I know nothing new to report, but still.

I'm wishing I kept Ricky on the bench and rolled the dice with Barber.

At the very least, now, I'm hoping they rest him for next week

I'm not sure what to think. I heard earlier he couldn't cut, but maybe that was sand bagging. I have both MB and Choice and have to decide real soon.......

Just asked my 7 year old and he said Bradshaw...I don't see how I can go against that.
I have to choose between MBIII, Bradshaw, or Steve Smith... and I need 20 points. Yikes. MBIII is the only one of those guys that I see having that kind of upside, so MBIII it is.

I've been agonizing over this for the past hour. I'm up by 11 with either Barber/CHoice and the Philly D left any my opponent has Witten. I'm rolling with Barber. I did have Choice in, but started thinking if Barber is active he's going to play.

Exact same thing here. Had Choice in all day long and now don't know what to do. Do we think Choice will get a bunch of carries either way or will it be mostly MBIII?

Looked like Barber taking snaps with the first team in warmups...didn't look like he was limping to me...but wasn't moving around much either.

i need 30 from owens, witten, and barber/choice. i'm dying trying to figure out who to go with, i'm leaning barber because if witten or owens take it near the goal line i'm guessing barber finishes it rather than choice. then again, if barber gets worse in game, choice takes over and i'm in trouble...

If I were to bet, Choice will be in on 3rd down plays. He is a good RB for Romo to dump off to, I think. If you're in a PPR league I don't think you'll go wrong either way. Good luck. Looks like all of us need to take some Pepto. lol

I'm up by 10 points. My opponent has DeSean Jackson and I have to choose between Barber/Choice. No PPR.

:)

This is a killer decision. I have Ward going and either Barber or Choice. Down 19.5 points, 20 yards = 1 point (rush/rec separate), no PPR. All day I've been thinking Choice, I just flipped it to Barber and am hoping for 3 combined TD's between my two RB's. Not expecting to win this one, but there's always hope. If I had only started Garrard over Ryan. :)

Back on topic, as I said, I'm going Barber since he's in the lineup. I can't imagine he won't at least be the goal line back.

Barber is a warrior and Dallas needs this game badly. I think he'll run and run hard, even with pain. That's what decided it for me.

It looks like this decision will decide a lot of leagues. :)
This is brutal. I am exactly tied and have either Barber or Choice going against Ward. I have a terrible feeling that whatever I choose will be the wrong one. It looks like I'm going with Barber and hoping for a TD. I'm guessing that Barber will still be the goal-line back even without great cutting ability.

Just changed it to MB3. I couldn't decide, so asked my wife to pick. If she is wrong, i can blame it on her now! Can't believe how tough of a decision this is.

went with choice, figure he's got the most upside. He'll get carries either way and if MB3 has pblms.......

Huh??

NBC's Andrea Kremer reports that Marion Barber's main role Sunday night could be as a fourth-quarter "closer."

Barber reportedly looked OK in pre-game warmups and made cuts on his injured toe, but the Cowboys still want to involve Tashard Choice. Dallas believes Barber is best as a finisher, so he may not get many carries early in the game.
