Marion Barber (1 Viewer)

I was looking at making a few trades in my league and one thing I noticed is Marion Barber's brutal playoff schedule.

Week 14 - @ Pittsburgh (#4 defense against the run, 74.0 yds/game, 2 tds)

Week 15 - NY Giants (#7 defense against the run, 84.7 yds/game, 1 td)

Week 16 - Baltimore (#2 defense against the run, 69.7 yds/game, 0 tds)

Does this concern any other Barber owners? Looks like a rough 3 week stretch right when you need him to put up some points and carry you through the fantasy playoffs.

I was going to say "No" but then saw that list. Ouch. He's probably not good for 100 yards in 2 out of 3 of those game, so gotta hope for a TD or two.

Good thing about last week's debacle is that the Cowboys staff now knows what will happen if they give Barber 8 carries/game, so they should be looking to get him 18-23 from here on out, especially vs. good team.

That is tough PO schedule.

But Dal does need to run him more. So I can see he can be productive against those teams.

He is the starting RB on the best offense in the league (in my opinion) don't sweat those matchups the Cowboys can score on those teams and the final 2 are at home.

weeks 15 & 16 are in the dome... so it won't be that bad.

The Barber owns the Giants... week 16 could be a little trouble; but I'm not trading him.

Philly and Green Bay were good D's that he already beat up pretty good this year. The thing about Barber is that he's a TD machine. I think he's matchup-proof and wouldn't trade him for anything short of AP or LT

Schedule, schmedule. What are you gonna do? Trade him for some scrub like Selvin Young playing garbage teams during that time? That's what I thought.
I don't believe anyone was advocating a deal involving Selvin Young.
That's true but you know what I mean. You don't trade down from an elite player like MB3 just to play a lesser back (whoever it may be) just to get some perceived advantage later on in the season.

I wouldn't worry about the Pittsburg game for a couple of reasons:

1. The game is in Pittsburg in December - not good for passing

2. The way the Pittsburg offense is going (or not going) and the injuries on the line, if it continues, the offense won't be able to sustain any long drives and the defense will be completely wiped out from being on the filed for most of the game. Now do the math.........

4th quarter + Pitt tired D = "The Barbarian" running wild!

I'm probably overvaluing him, but I wouldn't trade MB3 for either right now.
