Mark Sanchez OUT for the Tampa Bay game this week (1 Viewer)

(In the "not that anyone cares" category)

I had the Jets penciled in for my suicide pool pick this week, thinking that EVERYONE would take Tennessee against the Rams. I figure Vince Young could always revert back to the form where he is an interception machine.

But I don't know if I have the guts to take New York now.

I don't think this hurts the Jets' chances to win at all. Clemens is a game manager. That is what the Jets CS turned Sanchez into for the past two weeks. With some PT with the ones this week, Clemens should be OK enough. The Jets were going to run the ball all day anyway. in fact, the Jets kept Sanchez under 20 attempts per game recently due to the INT's. The Jets might even throw more with Clemens.

:) Clemens has looked bad, really bad, but it was only a few snaps. I think with a week of practice, he'll be fine.

People really think Clemens will be ok? It may have been a few snaps last week, but the guy has looked terrible in any and all action I have seen. How bad does this hurt the receivers (esp. when Bricklon Edwards was showing something last week before the injury)

Downgrade Thomas and Greene...downgrade Cotch and braylon although they likely weren't in your top20.

I like the Bucs Defense as a sleeper this week.

Final Score...Tampa Bay 7...NY Jets 5...Freeman smacks a double in the 9th with 2 on to win.

Bucs defense has actually been better since they fired Bates and Raheem took over. Clemens, from everything I've seen, is awful...so the Bucs may have a chance here.

But, hoping they lose a tight, close 24-21 game with Freeman putting up huge numbers as they tank closer and closer to Suh.

TANKAPALOOZA 2009

Clemens was sacked three times in less then two quarters last week, he is bad, really bad

TB defense is the play of the week, I see 5 Sacks and two int's with one defensive td for the

Bucs this week

does this help or hurt Thomas Jones?
No affect most likely. Teams were already stacking as many as 9 men in the box against the Jets the last couple of weeks.
Man I really hope they shut T. Jones down or at least contain him. I am playing against him in my fantasy league.

He is terrible. ####, I may need to risk Santonio Holmes in a blizzard over Edwards with Clemens at the helm.HOW can people say this is a wash for Jones? If the Jets cant move the ball, if they can't score, how does Jones have a chance to do anything but maybe grind out some yards and hope and pray for a 20 yards score - IF that.

Because the Jets lead the league in rushing with crappy QB play. I mean, people flipped out when Ben Roethlisberger went down and Dennis Dixon came in, thinking Mendenhall would stink against the Ravens. Now Mark Sanchez is out and Clemens comes in against the Bucs, and people are worried about TJ? Nonsensical.

Coach Rex Ryan announced Wednesday that Kellen Clemens will be the Jets' starting quarterback in Week 14.

Mark Sanchez's PCL sprain will cost him at least one game. The Bucs usually present a favorable matchup for passers, but Clemens is always a good bet to struggle. He possesses possibly the worst pocket presence in the league and makes Jerricho Cotchery, Dustin Keller, and Braylon Edwards no more than crapshoot fantasy plays. Don't pick up Clemens in two-QB leagues.

He might not be. You have to take last week with a grain of salt...
is Clemens 1st start. He should have at least tied that game against a very good defense. A Rex defense. He has a much better team now. Look at that pass to Mcareins that was dropped!!! Three dropped TD passes...

He has studied from Pennington and Favre. He's been in the same system for 4 years.....

It's defiinitely Now or never..

Clemens never had an O line. a good defense or a running game top work with, and that was two years ago.

He hasn't taken a snap (or very few) with the ones since the third preseason game. Sure, he looked rusty and unsure. Now, for the very first time in his NFL career, he has no excuses. Sanchez has been living on the "he'd a rookie" excuse all year. Clemens now for the first time has an opportunity to see how he does in a situation he can succeed in.

He looked bad last week, but did convert nicely on a 3rd and 12, or there abouts. The Jets can open the playbook a little too. We'll see what happens.

The fact that the line dropped from Jets -4 to Jets -3 does a pretty good job of explaining how significant this development is. The Bucs have an awful run defense, and the Jets have a great run offense. I think we'll see those factors play out as expected on Sunday.
