Maroney OUT vs Cincy (1 Viewer)

All that I can say is I am glad that I have Maroney on my bench and started Lamont Jordan. Has anyone heard how long Maroney could be out? I have Sammy Morris but I was counting on Maroney. I wonder if this year Maroney could be a waste.

Curious to see how Maroney's injury lingers. Unfortunately for owners of he or Morris (I have Morris in two leagues), you will likely not know who will be playing until the very last minute.. .the shenanigans WILL make this a difficult call every week.

Just f'ing great. Without Andre Johnson, Colston, and stuck with McNabb at QB, getting zero out of Maroney guarantees me a loss. Unless Gostkowski can kick about 17 FG's tonight, that is.

I hate this game. :lmao: :wall:

I would be pretty surprised to see him get 125 yards and 2 TDs like some are talking in the various Maroney threads . . .
Interesting. Here's my take: I view the Bengals as miserably soft against the run, and even if Maroney gets 10-12 carries, I thinks he's a safe bet for 100+ yards and one score. The other thing about tonight is that I expect him to have quite a few receptions. BB has CIN completely unprepared for what Maroney and B Watson will do tonight. Expect 200+ yards and 3 TD's between them.
So Maroney, who is so banged up that he almost didn't make the trip and is a GTD, is a safe bet to get 100+1 on only 10-12 carries (that he'll be lucky to get in the 1st place).Okey dokey.
Errr....you were close, H. K...just got the wrong guy.Morris 12-98 at the half.

Tonight really hurt me...I'm currently trailing by 7...I'm sure Maroney would have gone over 100 yds if he were healthy.

Maroney year two, any better than caddy year two?
Yes, Caddy averaged 3.5/carry.... Maroney 4.7. Maroney was doing fine until the injury - the TDs would/will come. All depends on how long the injury lingers.
re: touchdowns - SOME of them would come. But not necessarily that many. If he doesnt see the light of day within the 5, his TD production will be well south of double digits, regardless.

While it was against Cincy, you have to feel that Morris has earned more carries based on his performance tonight he seemed to run hard on every play. The NE running game could end up being like the Dallas running game with Maroney playing the role of JJ

I just heard again from my guy at the stadium that no decision has been made on Maroney for tonight's game. This is coming from someone that regularly attends team practices and who emailed me on Friday that Maroney did not look at all like himself and was noticably slower and not doing what he would normally do across the board.Say what you want about Belichick, but this guy would not be fueling me misinformation. So unless Maroney, Belichick, and my source are all in on it together I am confident that Maroney is hurt enough that the team really has to determine if he is healthy enough to play. Maybe Maroney made a lot of progress since Friday, but last time he suited up he apparently did not look very good. That being said, I would think that even if Maroney were to play that he would not see an extensive workload and that he would not be in on the extra tough downs. Seeing he already has not played much in those situations, I highly doubt that he'll start getting those tough carries tonight. I also don't see him having explosive speed tonight, and given that that's where he makes his big plays that he won't be breaking off any long runs.I certainly have no conclusive information on this one, but if I were to guess, I would think that Maroney suits up, they try him to see how he does, and they will adapt from there. If they do well enough without him I don't think he will play much. Morris, Faulk, and Evans may prove to provide ample run support and if so Maroney might only get 8-10, maybe 12 carries. I've been saying for months that Maroney would be treated with kid gloves as they want/need him fresh for the postseason to make another SB run.I would be pretty surprised to see him get 125 yards and 2 TDs like some are talking in the various Maroney threads . . .
David, your source was pretty dead on about Maroney last week vs. Cincy, does he have any updates about practice this week???
