he was tired from getting them that far . . . just consider Maroney to be Bill's "closer" . . .Doesn't Maroney deserve the freaking TD, he led them on the drive. I hate BB.

BB is trying to win the super bowl and not your teams ff championship. Pounding Maroney when they are clearly going to win isn't smart. Maroney has looked very good in the first two games.PantherPower said:one more possession, they need to run out the clock, and of course, no Maroney. WHAT A D!!!!!!!!CK!
I wonder whether he has the durability. I love his skills, but his fresh legs tonight were primarily vs. a tired, beaten and injured defense. I think his effective limit is 15-20 carries per game, and I hate that he's not involved in the passing game more. Unfortunately for us, BB seems to recognize these things and use him to keep him fresh to run out the clock in the 2nd half of the many games they figure to be leading this year.unload maroney for value now...bb has too big of a ego to do things the simple way. lm clearly has the skill set to be a 25 touch guy. that is too easy for bb and he has to show the world that he can beat you with four different rbs. get a new sweatshirt you cheater!!!

You seriously have to ask?Would you guys trade Maroney in a non ppr league for TO? Pretty sure I can make it happen and really thinking about it.
Pretty much. If you look back at the Jets game, Maroney was used extensively on the first series. He was given the ball a number of times...looked great...and that game was over before it started. He got the rest of the day off, as he was not really needed. Last night...game plan called for a fair amount of passing...early...and not so much running. Maroney also missed...badly...on a chip block, which saw Merriman crush Brady. He got some pine time. That game got out of hand...early...and Maroney was used to come in and salt it away in the 4th quarter.Maroney looks fine running the ball. He looked fine in the 1st Quarter against the Jets and he looked fine in the 4th Quarter versus the Pats. As has been stated, BB is trying to win a Superbowl. Considering the ease with which the Pats beat the Jets and Chargers, there was no reason or incentive to over use Maroney. Somehow...I think the Pats are going to need him in November, December and January. If and or when the Pats get into a close game that calls for ground control and Maroney would find himself on the bench, that would be the time I will officially start to worry, as I have Maroney in a few dynasty leagues. Until then, though, how he is being used makes perfect sense.BB is trying to win the super bowl and not your teams ff championship. Pounding Maroney when they are clearly going to win isn't smart.
