Where has he been drafted in your leagues (10 or 12 teamer)?

Any homers have insight in to what is expected of him this year? Is there enough ball to go around?

Is he a solid #2 WR?

He will be a solid NO.1 this year. He is healthy and looking great in camp. He will get over 1000 yds and 8-10 TDsTis was his stats from the scrimmage Saturday without Brees throwing him the ball. RECEIVING: Colston 7-63 TDColston has been a beast so far in camp

i dont trust him. he might very well have a great yr, but if i had him in a dynasty, i'd be tryin to unload him as the hype goes up.

that knee starts acting up...............

Basically ask yourself this question

Who would you rather have???

Boldin, Jennings, Colston, Steve Smith or Roddy White?

These guys are on the board with Colston.

Personally I like Boldin and Jennings

I would think Boldin is more risky.....not the #1 target....played 12 games the past few years....and is older/takes more of a beating.

1. Boldin-look at his #'s per game last season. between him and Fitz, he's the value.2. Smith-my gut tells me Delhomme will be better this yr.3. Roddy-got paid. good young QB's favorite target. good running game.4. Jennings-Rodgers' #1 guy. solid year.5. Colston-if healthy will have a nice year. Brees spreads the ball around, and he's injury prone. biggest ???? of these 5, imo.

I like this list although I would have to say the injury risk with Boldin is a little overrated based on last year. That was a freak hit that knocked him out of those games last year and has really nothing to do with his body breaking down. I am trying to decide who to draft at 2.8 and it is between Boldin and Smith. Smith always seems to get his, always. But if you take DWill at 5 you would be nuts to pair them up.***after condsideration I probably would move Roddy to #5 and Colston to #3

I consider Boldin and Fitz a #1a and #1b. Boldins average games per year for his career just under 14/games. If he had 89 catches and 11 Tds in 12 games last year that should tell you somthing

But isn't this the same arguement with Steven Jackson? Look at his PPG and if he played a full season, etc. He also missed playoff games.Plus Breaston had a good year last year.....does that take away from both of their #'s?

I think Colston has a good chance to be a top 5 WR, if not the #1 WR, and he can be had as the last of the top tier of WRs. Great value. I'm targeting him in every league.

Dynasty owners should grab him while his value is down. But then should be ready to trade him at the end of the season when his value is high (assuming I'm right about a big season). This is because the microfracture surgery is likely to shorten his overall career (i.e., his dynasty value). The surgery doesn't affect his short-term value.

Very good buy low, then eventually sell high opportunity.

I thought about that very point right after posting. I am with you on Jennings and White. Smith scares me becuase of Delhomme and Boldin scares me becuase of Warner and the emergence of Breaston and that his contract is still an issue with him (I think).

If Delhomme scares you regarding Smith then you obviously don't watch them play?If I asked you which pairs of passer/reciever have the highest yds per game, ever, who do you think of?IIRC, Smith and Delhomme are top 3 on that list with something like 90.4 ypg from Delhomme to Smith. Wow.I would go:SmithJenningsColstonBoldinWhiteAlthouhg Colston is more of a 3a and Boldin a 3b, simply because I think Boldin is a bit too much older for him to be worht more than Colston even with the knee problem.

WHEN HE HAS BEEN HEALTHY, HE PERFORMS AT ELITE LEVELS, WITH THE LIKES OF THE BEST IN THE GAME....HE IS A GREAT ROUTE RUNNER, GREAT HANDS, SIZE, AND HE IS STILL SOME WHAT FAST FOR HIS SIZE....HE HAS A GREAT STAT TRACK RECORD AND AN ELITE QB WHO IS IN AWE OF HIS ABILITY.....HE HAS PUT UP GREAT NUMBERS WHEN HE PLAYED, BARRING INJURY COMBACK GAMES....BUT ARE THEY NOT ALL ONE PLAY AWAY?

HE IS THE #3 WR ON MY BOARD AND AINT AFRAID TO SAY IT!

87/1350/12

DONT FORGET BREES LOVES THIS GUY, OPPORTUNITY IS WHAT MATTERS IN THIS GAME, BREES THROWS 600 PASSES A YEAR.....HMMMM U DO THE MATH!

I think Smith in on the other tier, below Megatron. Then the rest go:1.Jennings #1 option on a top passing team2.Boldin Can outproduce everyone when he is on the field. 3.Colston #1 option but the passing game has tons of options4.White I think Gonzo takes too many targets away, but he will still be solid.Colston will be a solid pick but he is by no means a value at his current ADP. I love the guy and he was on my team the last 2 years. Where I am picking this year, there is no chance.

After AJ, Moss, & Fitz its really a crap-shoot at calling the next 4 WRs in redraft

AJ

Moss - It sounds like Brady is completely healthy

Fitz

After those 3 I can't blame anyone from taking Wayne, Smith, Colston, Jennings, White, Boldin.

I don't get the "Brees spreads it around" comments. It's like one of the big dogs on here says it and all the clones latch on. Brees is going to throw 40-50 times a game. His chances not to do so this year is slim. Colston will receive more than anyone else, especially in the red zone. Regardless, who isn't going to receive looks when you throw that many times a game.

and he's from Hofstra too !! :porked: Seriously though, his ADP and Pierre Thomas' ADP are pretty close. For those who've gone RB/RB or RB/QB or QB/RB, which one do you take ? I guess a better question is this: which is a better top 3: Brady/R. Brown/Colston; OR CJ or Slaton (haven't decided yet)/Manning/Colston OR CJ or Slaton/ Manning/Thomas ???

I think the Jennings/White/Boldin WR tier we're all talking about is close, and it ends with Colston. So I take Colston over Thomas, but definitely not Bowe over Thomas or best available RB.

I'm figuring WRs like Jennings, White and Boldin are definitely gone when I pick at # 29 (5th pick in the 3rd round). Colston however could be there.

I dont think you can go wrong, however S Smith's injury might limit him at the start of the season. I like all those guys and if I am in the position to draft any of them after drafting 2 young RBs, I would be very happy.

Everyone keeps talking about this tier of WR's here, but nobody has even mentioned Reggie Wayne.
Wayne is just above this tier, but perhaps should be considered with this tier. The injury concerns surrounding Bush only make Colston more valuable IMO.

Everyone keeps talking about this tier of WR's here, but nobody has even mentioned Reggie Wayne. :diamond:
Colston > WayneHeres why...Brees > ManningThomas/Bush > Addai/BrownAnd as far as recieving options...I am a solid Saints follower, Brees only spread the Ball around cuz Colston was not Healthy and everyone else sucked...When he was back in full swing, who did Brees go to? who did Brees find in the blow out against the Lions in the redzone when he did not need to? Brees is in brolove with Colston, trust me or dont....Colts have more share time....Wayne, Gonzo, Clark, and they are lovin Garcon....But Reggie has proven to be nothing special in the back field and has not stayed healthy at all... even more so then Colston, but when he is, he is the only threat to take recepts away from Colston...Lance Moore is the most over hyped WR ive seen this year...If they had a legitamate option he might not of even played...Henderson, Meachem, Patten, Arrington....PLEASE!COLSTON is #3 on my board, but I feel he is an option at the first WR taken in my book, after all Fitz is on the Madden cover and Calvin is a Lion and Moss, well who knows with him this year really?COMPARE COLSTONS PER GAME STATS TO THE BEST IN THE LEAGUE, SEE WHAT U GET

I liked this blurb on Colston...

Saints | Colston shines in scrimmage (Sun Aug 9, 03:34 PM) - WWLTV.com is reporting wide receiver Marcus Colston was the early standout in the scrimmage catching all six balls thrown to him, including a one-yard touchdown from Mark Brunell. When Brunell was asked why he threw so much to Colston early, he said, "Because I'm smart," because Colston is a great target.

Our View: It's good to hear that Colston is looking good in game situations. He's battling back from injury, and if healthy should take his place as a top tier wide receiver in the NFL. He's at the bottom of that list, but he can easily put up WR1 numbers.
