Broncos suspend Brandon MarshallPosted by Mike Florio on August 28, 2009 10:38 AM ETAs it turns out, Marshall's attempt to accept responsibility for his actions was too little, and too late. The Broncos have suspended Marshall for conduct detrimental to the team. The team announced the move via e-mail moments ago.The duration of the suspension has not yet been determined. Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the league and the NFLPA, the maximum suspension for conduct detrimental to the team is four games.Unlike league-imposed suspensions, which are subject to appeal to the league office, discipline meted out by the individual clubs can be challenged via third-party
Suspended.Indefinitely???
Sooner or later, someone will pay him very close to what he wants.Does he still get paid?
I read that post like a line from Three Amigos.Suspended.Indefinitely???
Maybe I won't draft that felon. OMG LOL what a loser. I use the 'teenager jargon' here b/c Brandon is acting like a 13 year old who got grounded. Who takes a chance on him and what does he want exactly?I love this video it shows it all http://www.thedenverchannel.com/video/20590420/index.html
That will show himNewest tweets say he is suspended for the rest of the preseason, if he behaves, back for week 1.
No kidding. He is probably thinking, #### I wasn't playin' in preseason anyway.........That will show himNewest tweets say he is suspended for the rest of the preseason, if he behaves, back for week 1.
Brandon
It's titled as it's reported. He's DEFINITELY suspended through the preseason. He's suspended beyond that as of now. He COULD be reinstated for week 1 but he's not as of yet.Might want to change the thread title to just preseason.
The interesting thing about this is that Denver only suspended him for the preseason. To me, that sends a very clear message:"Your behavior is terrible but we can't afford to lose you for the regular season. We're going to do as much as we can to see if we can make this work for week 1 because we really can't afford to lose a player of your caliber".If they were really serious and wanted to teach him a lesson no matter what the consequences, they'd suspend him weeks 1-4 and give him a wake-up call.
Talk about a slap on the wrist.ETA: But it might be the best move. If Marshall can get it together (very questionable, obviously), he could really help the offense.COY. Subtraction by subtraction is the new black. :style:Wow first Cutler, now Marshall.McDaniels must really be doing something right

The Denver Broncos have suspended Brandon Marshall for the rest of the preseason for insubordination.
Coach Josh McDaniels met with Marshall Friday morning and informed him he was being suspended for conduct detrimental to the team after exhibiting open acts of insubordination Wednesday on the practice field.
McDaniels informed the team in a full-squad meeting of the decision Friday, at the end of a meeting in which they discussed the upcoming game against Bears.
Marshall said during an ESPN interview Thursday night that he was not trying to force a trade through insubordination, but that frustration got the best of him during a disruptive display at practice this week.

Why let Pat Bowlen off the hook? He could have paid both Cutler and Marshall what they wanted from the get go and all would be forgotten. This is a management decision not just a coaching decision.Wow first Cutler, now Marshall.McDaniels must really be doing something right
Seems to me that when you lose your franchise quarterback and the only other offensive threat keeping coverage off you, your production goes way down, not up.Royal must be at those practices thinking "keep it up". I'm bumping him a tic or two.
Add in these two facts:1) Denver has one of the hardest pass schedules in the NFL this year.2) If Marshall is out, Royal may get the #1 stud corners at Oakland (Asomugha) and San Diego.Sammy B said:Sebowski said:Double coverage babyGarts said:Eddie Royal baby![]()
Um, I didn't realize that ESPN became the authority on news. I'm listening to various interviews and the word that keeps being used is indefinitely and that it's very possible and some think likely that this gets extended into the regular season. Until that's clarified, "indefinitely" is appropriate as there is no definitive timeline given as to when the suspension will be lifted. If you have an issue with it, report it to the mods and they can change it if they see fit.Doctor Detroit said:No, that's not what it says:ESPNgianmarco said:It's titled as it's reported.
