Bob Glauber of Newsday predicts that the Broncos will eventually suspend Brandon Marshall for conduct detrimental to the team.

Glauber isn't a Broncos beat reporter, but is pretty well clued in around the league. "Reminds me of Year 2 of T.O. In Philly," Glauber tweeted. It's a very real possibility. Marshall's Average Draft Position should start falling.

Sounds like Brandon will be paid not to play.

I find this very hard to believe. Although if true, I would have a ton of questions...

The dude said "gut feeling" Marshall will be suspended by team. Since when do reporters with gut feelings that dont follow the team get any credibility? Dude must be drafting tonight and wanted Marshall in the 6th round. Not buying it.

Josh McD has already shown that he just doesn't care how talented a player is, your either in or out... unlike Philly and TO, I bet Denver could get a nice deal in return for Marshall and if its going to be this way why not just get rid of him. The guy is in his last yr (i think) anyway; give Chi a call and get some more future picks.I don't how Denver could offically Suspend Marshall, they'll have to send him home w/ pay.

there was an article yesterday saying that the Jets may be interested.

I've followed this saga fairly closely for a while and have yet to see a single instance where McD says anything negative about Marshall. McD has basically gone out of his way to accommodate him. Marshall, on the other hand, has had nothing but great things to say about McD.

Marshalls problems are with the front office, and presumably the medical staff in Denver.

I highly doubt that this happens. It just doesn't make sense.

Sounds like McDaniels BS to me.

It's just Glauber's opinion on a tweet. Skepticism is advised.

Somehow Josh McDaniels has come in and turned the franchise upside down - before they even play a game. And it's not the "cleaning house" type of movement... it's a mutiny.

Don't think that half that locker room is not pissed over the way Cutler and Marshall have been treated. Those two guys won ball games for this club.

Off topic a bit, get Eddie Royal at all costs. A round early.

After basically disengaging himself from practice by standing with the defensive players on the sideline and not taking any normal repetitions during 11-on-11 drills (he said it is because he is "not close" to learning the playbook), Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall reiterated he is not happy with the team. He was asked if there were irreconcilable differences with the team.

"Unfortunately, sometimes it gets to that point," Marshall said. "There are trust issues on both sides. It’s understandable. We’ve got to try our best to move forward."

He said he was starting to work past his issues with the team, but he was upset on Friday when he said a public-relations staffer told Broncos players not to act too happy for Marshall after he was found not guilty of a misdemeanor battery charge in Atlanta.

"I think the biggest thing was, it was really disappointing hearing that some of my teammates on one of the best days of ... for the past three years, of my life, some of my teammates were coached to say ‘Don’t say you’re happy for Brandon,'" Marshall said.

"That situation, we feel like we've tried to handle it the best we could after something like that came out, but trying to get everyone's mind back on football," Broncos coach Josh McDaniels said.

Marshall said he has not asked the Broncos for a raise. Marshall's agent Kennard McGuire was at Broncos facilities on Monday.

"From day one I’ve never asked the Broncos for more money, and that’s from the summertime," Marshall said.

Marshall wouldn't say he asked again for a trade but said Broncos owner Pat Bowlen said back in June he would try to trade him.

"In that meeting with ownership, it was told to me they’ll do their best to accommodate me with that wish," Marshall said. "And I’m still here. I’m a Bronco and all I can do now is do my best to get in my best football shape and be that player I was the past three years."

Marshall wouldn't say whether he would want to sign a long-term extension with the Broncos. He was then asked if he wanted to be with the team in the future.

"You know, I’m here now," Marshall said. "And I love playing football, that’s what makes me happy. It’s hard to come out here and be disgruntled when you love what you do, and I love what I do."

So why aren't the Broncos trading him?

He's either an asset for your team this year or trade him and get some value.

Broncos should be calling every NFL team right now and getting a deal done. If they suspend him with pay, that's hilarious. I'm sure Bronco fans don't really care about winning, they prefer making silly statements to their players.

Can teams still just send guys home with pay? I remember the Bucs did that with Keyshawn years ago, but I thought the player's association pitched a fit and teams couldn't do that anymore.

The Broncos would probably trade him if they got fair value for him. Marshall is an asset.Who is to say they aren't shopping him right now? And why are people believing this guy's "gut feeling" when suspension without pay hasn't really been publicly bantered about by people in the know (ie, Bronco reporters, team officials, etc...)?And trust me, Bronco fans do care about winning. That is why so many are up in arms about what has transpired this offseason. However, some have grown tired of Marshall's off-field antics and his lackadaisical attitude during training camp so they don't feel sorry for the guy when he is not running with the 1st team after not participating in most of training camp and not having a good grasp of the playbook.

I thought they changed that suspend without pay deal after the TO incident.

Either way, it sort of reminds me of that scene in Little Big League where the pitcher is tanking to get traded so he can get a new contract and tells the kid that he should just bench him and the kid manager says something like, "nope, gonna send you out every day to pitch. If you don't pitch well, what do you think other teams are going to pay for a pitcher that can't get anyone out." Guy goes out and pitches like a machine.

Brandon has to play and play hard. If he wants a big contract in Denver or elsewhere he has to produce. He knows it and the team knows it. I'm not at all worried about him not playing well because he's tanking or the team sitting him.

McDaniels seems to have changed his tune a bit in this latest episode. With the Cutler situation he was more of a tough guy saying things like "everyone is tradeable" and stuff like that. In the Marshall episode he's been very quiet in his responses and his criticism.

 So the guy doesn't know the plays, and the answer is to give him less work in practice?

It really just comes down to will Marshall choose to play or take the fines.

He can show at practice and try not to do what he is supposed to, which they should ignore.

TO had a clause in his contract IIRC, Marshall probably doesn't (yet).

Denver will not get fair price so make him play or make him pay. But don't pay him not to play.
