Marshall vs Asomugha (1 Viewer)

Double Naught Spy

I am looking forward to this match this week. After Brandon's record setting performance last week will Asomugha take this as a personal challenge to totally shut Marshall down ?

Will Marshall keep his focus and prove to the world he is the unstoppable BEAST he wants to be known as ?

Hopefully Asomugha's arm is OK after he banged it up last week. I want to see this clash of titans. Some say Revis is now the best shut down corner in the league, but Nmandi's still an awesome talent. This will easily be the best individual matchup in the coming week.

So, who do you like in this one... Marshall or Asomugha ??

(I'm taking Marshall to get 6/90 and 1)

This is moot. The Raiders are moronic and leave Asomugha on one side of the field so the Broncos will just shift Marshall to the other side and leave Royal to have another 0 catch day working against Nhamdi.

He may get 6/90/1 but it will not all be on Asomugha, the problem is he usually stays on a side and will not chase a particular wr around the field. I will take the under on their head to head match ups this week.

Tough to "shut down" someone who gets the ball jammed down his throat so much.

But Asomugha will own Marshall one-on-one.

FWIW, TO had just 3 catches after his 20-catch game. Marshall had 6 catches (but for 155 yards and a score) after his 18-catch game.

Marshall had a nice day against them in week 3, but his TD was a mismatch against the LB Morrison. As a Marshall owner, I'm glad Asomugha stays on his side.

Let's also remember that Denver probably won't find itself down 21 after the first quarter. If they are up large you might not see much airing it out the second half. The 21 catch performance was awesome, but it was also the perfect storm to do it in.

At home. A whole stadium laughing at JaBustus' every bad play (hopefully). Time of possession around 40 minutes. Orton-Marshall much more in sync now. Alphabet Soup guarding Royal/Gaffney. I'll take that.

I would bench Marshall as it will be all Knowshon Moreno in this one. There is no reason for them to throw much at all. Denver needs this game bad and they'll play it safe. If game gets out of hand early, goodbye Marshall stats, so you better hope he scores in the 1st half.

I would be more worried if Buckhalter was also playing. With only Moreno, I see them throwing enough to get Marshall some #'s.

So will Cable sit there and watch Routt or Johson (CB's) get TORCHED by Marshall and not do a thing?

Why would they just put Asomugha on Marshall all day?

I see another 5-62-0 type day.
Tend to agree although there is always a good chance he catches one TD. But I don't expect a huge day at all and do expect Denver to try and run the ball much more. And if you look at week 3 when these two teams met Marshall was 5 for 67 and one TD.

I'm starting Marshall with semi-confidence and you'll be hard pressed to find a hotter receiver right now... you must have some amazing options if your benching him. Nmandi does have the ability to stop Marshall but luckily for us Marshall owners a pop-warner QB can read the Raiders defensive scheme after about the 2nd play. Why the Raiders don't have Nmandi shadowing the best receiver at all times is beyond me. This guy is earning some easy top dollar pay-checks... the opposing team is consistently lining their worst receivers on his side and he's obviously shutting them down with ease.
