Totally agree. Ben will be back in 4-6 weeks, so why would I drop him.ponchsox said:Why on earth would you drop this guy? :facepalm
It's all about "What have you done for me lately." And of course, nobody can remember more than about 9 months ago.Ayayayay...it's incredible how quick people are to cut bait.
Bryant is planted firmly on my bench until week 5, where he will absolutely be inserted into my lineup as my wr3 or my flex. Mike Vick sucks BUToe thing he can do is throw a pretty deep ball. Which matches up well with bryants greatest strength: catching the deep ball.
Drop Bryant at your own peril. For me he's an obvious hold. Even if I have to wait until rothlisberger comes back in week 8.
I wouldn't count on having him back 3 weeks after the injury. Not sure what the severity of the bruise is, but a severe bone bruise is not something that he can just brace up and play through.Big Ben won´t be out long.
He´ll miss another 2 games and when he gets back, Martavis will be an absolute beast.
So did Sam Bradford.I know it was only preseason but Bryant looked like a man amongst boys to me, just oozing game breaking talent. I didn't catch the game tonight so I don't know exactly how good (or bad) Vick looked but all he needs to do is get the ball in the dudes hands and magic will happen. I'm still just as excited to get him back next week as I was before the Big Ben injury.
Bradford didn't look special, just comfortable in a system and healthy for the first time in a millennia. Bryant has already flashed his ceiling many a time in regular season action. I just believe he was on the verge of taking the next step and it became apparent to me as a likelihood watching him run circles around players during preseason action. So did Sam Bradford.I know it was only preseason but Bryant looked like a man amongst boys to me, just oozing game breaking talent. Obviously downgrade expecations with Ben out but I still feel good about Bryant and he will be in my starting lineup next week. Dropping him now is a ludicrous notion IMO.
If Antonio Bryant catches that ball in the endzone that I believe he catches 85 plus % of the time then its a totally different tone in a number of threads tonight. Vick missed a few throws tonight and took 2 bad sacks holding the ball. But overall he was not that bad working in an obviousl limited gameplan. But the guy has been there less than a month and lost 3 days of normal prep b/c of the short week. He should get better in the offense and having Bryant back only helps.
Was he allowed to practice the past few weeks with the team? If yes, he should be okay.Given that he has supposedly been in rehab for weeks, any expectation that he'll be out of shape or off timing and need to be eased in when he does come back? Or are his owners rolling him out in lineups week 5?
Vick missed Antonio Brown last night at a critical point late in the game by floating the ball just a couple inches too high. There may be something to this...I heard a stat on the radio this morning from some alleged "fantasy guru." Havent fact checked it all so take it FWIW.
But he said that in Vick's career he has completed 65% of his passes to WRs 6'2 and taller compared to 52% of his passes to WRs shorter than that. He suggested that when Vick misses he often misses high. Again, not sure how valid the stat is or how it stacks up in relation to other QBs but I thought it was interesting. As I said above I think Bryant's abilities play especially well to what Vick brings to the table.
I think Antonio Brown's production takes a much bigger hit with Ben out than Bryant's will.
