Marty Booker-WR-Falcons Aug. 6 - 8:24 pm et

Booker, 33, was released by the Bears in February after recording just 15 catches last season. The Falcons are bringing in veterans for depth with Brian Finneran, Aaron Kelly and Troy Bergeron behind Michael Jenkins and holdout Roddy White. Booker is no lock to make the team, much less emerge as a fantasy factor.

Matt Jones seemed the ideal fit ?

Agreed. It's kind of sad, actually. Not a chance Jones was coming to Atlanta. Smith is quite familiar with him and did everyone just miss the headache that was Michael Vick? Why would they jettison Vick and then bring in a new headache like Jones?

but........but..........he's fast! and he's big! big AND fast!! that is a lock for stardom! just look at TJ Duckett! and lawrence phillips! and........uh

Just listening to Falcons GM Dimitroff on the radio.

Booker was a part of Mike Mularky's (Falcons OC) offense in Miami and is familiar with the system. They were looking for someone they could throw right in and pick up where Douglas left off. He indicated Booker has done just that and of course made no mention of Matt Jones what so ever.

Falcons sign WR Robert Ferguson

Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Falcons have reportedly signed veteran wide receiver Robert Ferguson.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that the team has signed Ferguson, who is an eight-year veteran, to a one-year deal.

Last season with Minnesota, he appeared in eight games and had three catches for 25 yards.

Over his eight seasons in the NFL, six with Green Bay and two with Minnesota, Ferguson has appeared in 83 games and has 151 catches for 1,993 yards and 13 scores.

I know Ferguson isn't a show-stopper, but he is a VERY good down field blocker as a WR. He won't help Ryan, but he could help Turner (provided he even makes the team).
