Just saw we have to wait until March 2026 for S2

That's actually pretty fast these days, especially for a show with special effects.

ETA: Capella beat me to it. My kids like the Percy Jackson and Avatar shows on Netflix and those will be almost 3 years between S1 and S2. Even Stranger Things which was a no brainer renewal is going on 2 years now since S4 released with no date announced yet for S5.

What a great and brutal episode to end the season on!
Punisher and DD destroying people! Karen Page returns!

Looking forward to S2. Love or hate this season, it looks like they are setting up the second season for what everyone wants. Hopefully its out sooner than later!
I really did think they were setting up a Defenders type team up when DD tells Karen "We need an army". With the rumored appearances they might be
I think you’re right on second spoiler.

Great episode.
It’s possible, or YA - based on the bank episode I’m leaning that way.
Does YA mean Young Avengers? What in the bank episode makes you lean that way?
Ms Marvels dad, referencing spider-man, inviting Matt over for dinner
Don't think we get a full YA team up, but could see the start of it. You have Ms Marvel and Kate Bishop, both of who have connections to characters in the series. Plus the niece of White Tiger who could inherit the amulet. All 3 are based in the area.
👍 those plus the defenders makes a decent Army.
Tried spoilers and failed :lmao: , but I think it'll be The Hand and only those others they've shown so far in this series.

They are going to join forces with their arch enemy the hand to fight Fisk?
Enemy of my enemy is my friend?

Ah I see. I've thought that was going to occur since the Hawkeye series and the other series you mentioned in the spoiler, I just thought the bank episode was more of a fun easter egg rather than foreshadowing.

It could turn out to be a fun easter egg. I'm hoping its more.

That’s only a year from now damn that’s good. Some shows take like 3 years to make.

Originally they were planning an 18 episode season, then with the retooling split it into 2x 9 episode seasons. And I thought I heard they had continued filming after the 9. Hoped the rest would be sooner than later. So its both a "sweet, we get more in a year" and a "damn we have to wait a year" reaction.

I think so, and it's in line with the a similar comic storyline. I don't see YA or other type characters being involved - DD is much too dark for those light hearted characters. I also think bringing in too many named characters would really shoot this budget up to crazy heights. Realistically, using The Hand would keep things in budget, in line with recent story arcs (if you consider the old Netflix series recent) and is somewhat comic accurate. Trying a little Occam's Razor and keeping the solution simple.

Finally got through the last episode.

Loved it.

I about wet my pants when Everything In It's Right Place started up (one of my favorite Radiohead songs). What a perfect song for that montage as DD, Kingpin and Punisher all return to the roles they started with.

And man do I ♥️ Karen. So good to see her back in the mix with Frank and Matt.

Ok, the Silver Surfer looks amazing in the new FF trailer.

I am actually excited about Thunderbolts* and Fantastic Four. Esp with some of the speculation about how FF leads into Doomsday & Secret Wars.
Cautiously excited.

That actually pissed me off. They made a big deal about how it was going to be SOOOO MANY EPISODES then gradually walked it back and we were left with a shorter than average season.

Where I agree with you on the promo/walkback, we still got 9 eps. Most of the Disney+ Marvel shows are either 6 or 9 so not sure how its "shorter than average season".

Ms Marvel 6
She Hulk 9
Falcon and Winter Soldier 6
Echo 5
WandaVision 9

Not average Marvel, average TV show. Though that number has been shrinking, most prestige shows got 10-12 episodes. The Pitt recently had 15. Shrinking 12. Severence had 10. Shogun 10. Just naming some outstanding shows from this past year. The original Daredevil on Netflix had 13 each of 3 seasons.

So for them to tout a "longer than ever" show and deliver under the industry standard is annoying and insulting.

Daredevil - for a Disney Marvel TV show it's like a 9. For a general streamer more like an 8

Murdock making a move to take the bullet for kingpin and nobody questions it is poor writing

Looks like the Thunderbolts early reviews have been very positive.

It is currently at 88% on Rotten Tomatoes after 113 critical reviews have been submitted and the reviews from the early movie goers on social media have been very strong as well.

I have tickets for Friday, I'm more excited for this movie than I have been for any MCU movie since Deadpool, and prior to that probably No Way Home. Hoping this is a fresh start for the next phase.

Planning to go Sunday with the kid. We are both looking forward to it, esp with the positive reviews.

I never even saw the latest Captain America, would be the first time I haven't seen an MCU movie* in theatres.

*I saw Black Widow at home but that was a rare Covid release straight to DisneyPlus

Wife and I are going tonight to see Thunderbolts*. I seriously can't remember the last movie I saw in theaters on opening weekend. Would have definitely been before COVID.

I'm with @Harry Manback, looking forward to this one.

Saw Thunderbolts* tonight. Loved it. My favorite Marvel movie since EndGame. Solid story. Good laughs. Touching moments. A few surprises. One of the better post-credit scenes in awhile. Definitely recommend.
What he said. Cast was good, story was good and it was a bit different than what we've seen from Marvel before. They've got something brewing here after the mess of the last couple of years.

Same. My wife (not a Marvel fan), both kids 13 and 10 and myself loved it. Great movie. Hopefully Fantastic Four pays off as good as this, based on the trailers to date.

For y'all folks into Marvel - hop onto Footballguys Trivia tomorrow night, Monday 5/5. 9:00 PM ET

I was looking more forward to Thunderbolts than I was Fantastic Four. So far, it was a good payoff. I did watch all the series so had more history with the characters, but I really loved all of them. Without going into spoilers, it was a great mix of humor (without being zany over the top a la Love and Thunder) and really kind of introspective moments about loneliness and the need for community. A little less action than I expected. Really enjoyed it. There are 2 extra scenes, the one in the middle is fun, and the one at the end sets the table for the future. I think I'm going to land on an A- here.

My favorite part of Thunderbolts was the absolutely hilarious dialogue. Really liked all the heroes save for Ava - I don’t think they gave her character much to work with. The plot was just okay to me - a little too hokey I think. But the humor was ultimately enough to win me over.

are they making anything else with shang chi that was one of my favorite little marvel hidden gems it was just pretty awesome and different and id like to see some crouching tiger hidden five rings come back take that to the bank bromigos

the best marvel character is armless tiger man and it isnt close that guy lost his arms in a machine accident and then dedicated his life to destroying machines and also i guess he is part tiger or something take that to the bank bromigos

Looks like the next D+ series has its first trailer: Ironheart

Not sure how I feel about it. Has potential and has to be better then Secret Invasion but not as good as DD right?
I'll probably watch and hope while I wait for FF to arrive in theaters.
Is it just Iron-man but without any build up to show us how they just built the same thing in a couple days?

Yeah, seems very derivative.

Her "origin" story was already told in Black Panther II.

She was introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which gave a little of that background.

I mean, that's kinda what it looks like. I was wondering how they're going to justify her getting power akin to the arc reactor figured out. Is this Tony Stark level intelligence but without the benefit of years of research?

I remember that now and I think I thought the same thing in that movie. I think Wakanda Forever was overrated a bit, better as a tribute than the rest. I barely remember that movie past the opening so it clearly didn’t make a lot of impressions on me.

We just assume the girl is Tony Stark level with no career or tools. It’s one thing to believe a kid from Southie is good at math and has a photographic memory of every book he reads. It’s a whole other level to build a next level Iron-man suit in basically a Firestone auto shop.

Again, easy to suspend some belief for Tony Stark because a) his dad was already a genius and had worked his whole life on inventions, b) Tony also worked his entire career on weapon systems and c) it took him months to build even an incredibly crude version of his suit.

The Ironheart preview felt more like Blue Beetle than Avengers.

Then again at least they are coming out with new content that involves actual powers and not some guy with super strength and reflexes to save on the SFX.

Bear in mind that a lot of the work and materials are already available for Ironheart. It took Tony "months" to build his first suit because he was in a cave....in the middle east...using salvaged parts as they came available. At this point in the MCU, everyone is trying to become the next Tony Stark. Materials and components are more readily available if you know the right people. This girl is also one of the smartest people in the MCU, based on comic lore. She ranks up there with Tony in intelligence. She also just spent time "interning" in Wakanda which has cutting edge technology, equipment, and scientists. I don't think it's fair to compare her to Tony Stark, as she has been given quite a few things that has either rivaled, or surpassed what Tony had at her age. I'm looking forward to it as it's the next iteration of an Ironman type character. The story arc and details are there for the taking - both from Wakanda Forever and the trailer. It's not like they just picked up a kid off the street and said here you go. This character has had some build up and depth already applied. I actually like her a lot more than the theory of trying to elevate the kid from IM3 (?) to be the next Tony Stark, just because Tony was nice to him and saved his life.
