Been waiting to post something.   My sister lives in Vegas was at the Mandalay Bay.  Not at the concert but gambling.  That is her regular spot.   I just talking to her and she said it was a scene of total chaos as nobody inside knew what was going on at first.  Then police were rushing in and people started running out thinking maybe a bomb went off and not knowing there was a mass shooting outside.   When she got outside she said she thought for sure a bomb had gone off seeing all the people wounded and then running. One of her friends is a dealer there told her that when people realized something bad was going on  some  were grabbing chips off tables and buckets of chips from slot players  and running outside.

Special place in hell for these types.  What kind of decent person has that level of greed.

completely of topic, but I could image this is a major problem for the casino in chaos situations. I thought about that when there was the shooting threat after the fight that the Seattle FB player was involved in. IDK if I was a dealer, do I save myself or save the table? 

I'm sure each casino has protocol for this. If they don't, they do after last night.

We would have to see if it is really this guy...but it seems crazy for two windows to be shot out so far apart on the floor. Like someone said it may have been a suite - but on the 32 floor? thought the suites were up higher at mandalay. To be fair, it wouldn't be the first time a "patsy" took one for the team.  While I don't believe that's the case in this situation, I understand where they're coming from.

Here a guy has a true automatic weapon - maybe two of them - because he was shooting out of two windows that look 60ft apart. No one understands how he got them. No links to training with weapons like this. No on understands why this quiet guy would do it. No background so far on him - other than he liked to gamble.

Submachine guns, which they are suspecting is what was used and what is heard in the videos being posted everywhere, and other fully automatic weapons cannot be purchased legally by civilians.

Having a mental illness isn't a motive.  There are millions of Americans struggling with mental illness--it's unfair to lump them in with this guy.  I believe that people's hearts are in the right place when they talk about access to mental health care when tragedies like this happen, but I think it does more harm than good.  It perpetuates the stigma of mental health issues and discourages people from seeking treatment.
