Monti just seems and sounds like one annoying #####. That's probably why everyone hates her, along with her "memorizing recipes", wherever that came from.

But I'm rooting for the globetrotter. He seems like a good dude and Joe gave him props for his instincts on using the right pasta last night.

Also rooting for Frank, seems like a cool italian guy to hang out with.

And maybe it's just me, but I would like to filet Becky's fish, she's got that girl next door thing working well.

Dave really needs to go next. After him, it's really anyone's game. Right now I would put it as Frank and Becky looking like the final two.

Did anyone notice that there was a comment about Christine's dish not being visually appealing?

Ummm, there may be a reason for that.

Her lack of sight hasn't stopped her before now. Her work has been impressive up until this last go. The worst part is she had Salmon. If it wasn't the easiest fish in the challenge it was 1A.

No argument. She has been great so far. I just found it odd that they mentioned a lack of visual appeal in a blind woman's dish.

I really think it was so easy she got flustered if that makes sense. I mean kind of a too many ways to go thing and never really got on track.

Based on the pressure test, the right contestant was sent home. I dont wanna give any spoilers.
it was, but was sad to see it happen. The blue team, David in particular, sure got lucky they switched captains. (which was a completely jerked off move) At least Monti owned up and took herself out of the free pass from the pressure cooker.

Well I think the blue team won in spite of their captain. Tattoo chick saved their butts with her BBQ sauce. People were complaining about the way the steaks were cooked but loved the sauce. Personally I don't believe in ruining a good steak that way. But it worked. Monti should have listened to her team and done the beans. Although people liked the sweet potatoes it was too many people for that. On the challenge the right person got sent home based on what was cooked. Josh really blew a couple of the eggs. Still the Becky begging thing just ticked me off. And yeah David smirking from the balcony sucked. He needs to go.

Yeah, dough boy needs to go. I wouldn't mind seeing him and Becky go home on the same episode. Frank cracked me up with the, "I put the blind girl on the grill. What was I thinking?" comment

That was a pretty good line. But I mean really she has been a problem in all these. As they get less people she is harder to cover for. At some point you are stuck using her somewhere she is not an asset. She can absolutely cook but she is a liability outside a structured environment.

Yeah, Gordon (and my wife) seem to think her palate is a huge asset in the team challenges, but I completely disagree. The food they're serving doesn't have to have some kind of delicate finesse, it just needs to be prepared, cooked properly and taste good. All in a very short amount of time. Definitely not her forte.

Yep this is really high volume line cooking. All that fancy stuff goes out the window and generally teams that go simple do better. The palate doesn't roast the corn.

For the challenges, yes. But for the overall "Master Chef" title, I think palate is VERY important. The judges are constantly looking at the details and nuance of the dishes in trying to determine who is going home.

Sure but since the challenges determine who goes to the pressure test they are extremely important. As we saw Josh wasn't the worst chef by any stretch but he went home last night over a soft boiled egg.

Her palate will definitely carry (has carried) her far in the overall competition, but she's a liability in the team challenges.Speaking of palate, did they have the blind tastes tests in the second season? I don't remember them after the first. I always thought that was a good pressure test.

I'm not questioning that she's a liability in challenges, just that palate doesn't matter.
Well I think what we are saying is that it isn't as important in these challenges. It is more important of course in the individual cooking tests and that's where she really brings it.

Stacy was the second worst chef left (imo), but again David skates because he was carried by a better chef. He's not long for this competition.

Also, palate: not so much in this challenge (even though that's not the point I was trying to make).

I love Frank's logic. Pin Becky with the worst chef left, so if they lose, they'll send her home instead of David. :loco:

Yeah, the logic they present to force drama always amazes me.. they even tried to set it up during the show: Joe challenged Becky about allowing David to cut the fish. I even said to my wife, "So they'll send Becky home for allowing David to cut the fish, instead of David for ####### up the fish?"

God I hope Ryan doesnt make it back into the competition but I have the feeling he might.

I wanna taste some of Felix's sushi.

Well to be fair he had limited choices. He hoped that they wouldn't get along and that there would be a shot at her going home. Certainly didn't want to put her with anyone stronger than David. With that said they were trying to manufacture some drama. Look at Felix and Monti. Monti admitted straight up she knew nothing about sushi and let Felix take charge. Felix obviously knew what she was doing. And yet they made this whole thing about Felix carrying them. Monti prepped, Felix finished. Done the other way they fail big time.I do think the right choice went home but this was another case of Christine being a liability to some degree. She couldn't make up for her partner being slow because she has to be slow. And it cost them.As to next week the whole bringing people back is stupid. They are out for a reason. I will say even if Ryan cooks like an angel from on high I can't see the others picking him to be back. I think Tali is in for some solid rejection as well. Josh probably has the most sentiment working for him of the others.

I can't believe Ryan even sniffed a chance to get back in the kitchen. It would have been total crap to give him a chance after being able to sit out, essentially safe, for 8 weeks.

Yea that was really dumb. Should've done last 4. Glad Josh is back.

Felix looked delicious tonight.
She always does Imo.Loved the 6-0 score. Josh didn't deserve to get cut when he did, Im glad to see him back.
I was a little surprised Ryan didn't get a vote or two. I am glad Josh made it back out of that group although tattoo chick really went for it and I wouldn't have been upset to see her back. But Josh going out on an egg never seemed right really either so I am good with that.It was fun to see Tali get taken down again by the judges though. He could come back every week as the what not to do example. And Ryan getting booted again was very satisfactory.

Wow they got it all wrong tonight. That turd should've been sent home just for forgetting the rice. Was his mystery box that good that it saved him? They told him how to cook the damn rice pudding and he butchered it. Ah well, he has no shot anyway. I calling my final two as Becky and Frank.

You really need to follow David Martinez on Twitter. He is a riot, what a tool. His timeline from tonight is classic as he throws comebacks at haters and hypes his "big" charity promotion which could raise as much as $50 for charity.

They probably didn't want to say it so not to gross out the audience...but Josh's dish looked like diarrhea. Can't believe he served that.

Top-2 have to be Becky and Frank. Christina and Monti right there. Josh and the dumb kid pulling up the rear.
