Matt Jones: The Saga Continues- TB works him out (1 Viewer)

This CANT BE REAL....Are you kidding me?

Yamon Figurs instead of Matt Jones? This has to be a joke, unless the Bucs are really looking for a Special Teams player......What a joke .....the Bucs is....

Figurs wouldn't be a starter in my Flag Football Team!!!
actually Figurs would be lights out in flag football. He's super fast and you don't have to worry about him getting broke since he's like 160 lbs

True, but I play in "large" flag football league. You need to weight at least 200 lbs to play!!

he played with Tampa rookie quarterback Josh Freeman in college at Kansas State and dosent have the off fiield issues probally the main reasons. Also probally would sign cheaper then Jones. But from reading other reports and between the lines it seems this is just a wake up to Bryant and Clayton . the GM had them in his office today to stress that they need to not drop passes and play better. Probally sat by a window where Jones and the rest were trying out.

This is crazy....they rather have one of the worst receivers in the NFL ( 3 catches 7 fumbles) just because of off the field issues? Then go get a Priest somewhere in Tampa to be your #2 WR!!! He would have the same production as Figurs....

Unless things have changed Jones has been said to be willing to play for the league minimum. He just wants to play.

yeah but, the Bucs are not interested in winning at all.....they are trying to find a way to get worse.....now watch them put Figurs in the lineup in place of Clayton....

Bump for the Legend!

I feel bad for M. Jones....a lot of worse characters playing right now in the NFL and this guy gets no chance.....there is always the Arena League...

And there might not even be that, unless the newly formed Arena Football 1 league gets off the ground next year...

Wouldn't he make a lot of sense in a wildcat?A lot of times the RB or WR comes in at QB but are they ever really a threat to throw? Jones could be that.

Miami seems like the absolute ideal fit. Desperatley in need of a semi-dependable WR (Jones probably is better than anyone on the roster - which says more for the patheticness of the Miami WRs than for the abilities of Jones), and a good fit for their offense in general with the passing wrinkle. I guess Parcells just does not want to add the perceived bad seed into the locker room, but that aside it seems like a great call. That team needs immediate help at WR. As a Fins fan, I am incredibly disgusted by the horrid WR play this season. I would personally be all over seeing them bring him in...at least for a workout!

yep. Rostered him since the rookie draft until a couple of weeks ago when I had to make room and bring in bye week help.I guess a couple of more WR's have to go down to injury before Jack Del Rio's curse is lifted

Is he going to end up following in Antonio Bryant's footsteps? (a year off, followed by comeback player of year campaign) After witnessing that, only reason I'm still holding on (12X30 non-IDP dynasty roster). Getting tougher & tougher every week though

After flirting with receiver Matt Jones during the 2009 season, the Tennessee Titans have decided to give the 2005 first-round draft pick a shot at resurrecting his career.

According to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean, the Titans have offered a contract to Jones, a converted quarterback from Arkansas whose four-year stint with the Jaguars did not yield the results that the franchise had anticipated.

Jones also has visited with the Bengals. It's unclear whether Cincinnati has made him an offer.

After a 2008 arrest for felony cocaine possession, Jones had the best year of his career, catching 65 passes for 761 yards in only 12 games. But he landed in jail for a week last year after violating the terms of his diversion program (he drank alcohol while golfing), and the Jaguars cut him loose.

The Titans gave Jones a tire-kicking in September, but no offer was made. As a member of a team's offseason roster, he'll have an opportunity to become fully involved in the playbook and the system his next team uses.

Still, after missing an entire year of football, it'll be interesting to see whether the man we dubbed "Moonshine" given his resemblance to former teammate Nick Sorensen (who looks like "Sunshine" from Remember the Titans) has anything left in the tank.

He can't be any worse than Coles.

Poor Matt. Either he gets Vince Young, an iffy QB, or Palmer, who is iffy to ever return to form.

If I were him, I'd jump at the Bengals, just on the chance Palmer is his old self.

Mike Brown and Marvin Lewis have picked up another reclamation project.

Matt Jones will join the Bengals, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Unlike a potential Pacman Jones signing, this looks like a smart bet for the Bengals.

Jones is not a great big play threat, but we think he's got somewhat of a bad rap as a player. He occasionally took over games in 2008 with the Jaguars and is a difficult guy to defend on third downs and the red zone.

The Bengals wideout group was lacking size and speed last year. Jones gives them some size at a very cheap price. He knows this could be his last chance in the NFL.

If Jones doesn't impress this summer, the Bengals could drop him with nothing less. We think it's more likely that he allows them to cut Laveranues Coles and save some money.

White Wizard and possibly PacMan? Wow....Lewis has all kinds of projects going on.

With a solid running game, a proven QB and Ocho always getting a lot of attention the ball is clearly in Matt's court now. It's an excellent situation for him to rebuild his career and if he doesn't he'll have few excuses left.
