I dumped him this week. With Leftwich he at least had a chance of developing, but with Gerrard he's getting no love. His 49 yards last week came on one play across the middle, and he was the one who made the yards. Otherwise he's just a body in the lineup, IMHO.
Of course he does have one thing going for him this week. I dropped him. That usually means a player has their best game of the year.

I have him stashed deep on bench of a couple teams as insurance should something develop/change with the Jax WR's.
That being said he's far from a safe start as long as it's Garrard to Wilford and JAX is winning games running the ball so much.

The same that his value has been throughout his career: Useless to your fantasy team. Find some sucker that still is all geeked by his combine #'s and find some nice you tube stats of his handful of athleticism showcases (maybe they'll ignore that it might be PRE-SEASON FOOTAGE!!!) and get a used puck bag or something like Mike Alstott who can give you a lucky TD. Oh, that'd be in a dynasty league, as in re-draft leagues, Matt Jones probably shouldn't be on a roster.

well that's insightful
Ignore the preseason footage and just look at the first couple weeks of the season, when he was healthy. Not eye popping #'s, but pretty good considering his learning curve. We won't know if he'll reach his potential until he does, or in a couple years if he's a bust, but it's way too premature to declare him worthless in dynasty leagues. I may have been too high on him before, but time will tell. He's a great buy-low right now. In smaller redrafts, he's sitting on the WW, as he should be.
