Matt Jones (1 Viewer)

I know it's impossible to know for sure, but does anyone have any insight into how his groin has recovered in the last week? I rather not start Engram against the Bears, but none of us can afford another goose egg.

as a warning to my other players, jones will be riding the pine to send a clear message that zeros will not be tolerated on my team. troy williamson starts in his place. ENJOY THE VIEW MATT!!!!!

:lmao: If he does it again make him do 20 laps
Jaguars | Jones upsetSat, 30 Sep 2006 8:02:28 -0700Michael C. Wright, of the Florida Times-Union, reports Jacksonville Jaguars WR Matt Jones is very distraught over the trouble he has caused for Fishnic's fantasy football team. "I never meant to let him down", says Jones. "It won't happen again".

FYI, Jones was interviewed on local TV. He says he's still in some pain but expects to play. He said the old "in this league, you have to play thru the pain".

I expect him to be more than a decoy and the Jags to throw a little more than last week. Of course, it will still be WRBC with Reggie Williams and Wilford.

It's hard to say, but Jax has other good WRs (R.Willams, E.Wilford). If M.Jones isn't 100%, I'll probably start another WR until he's back healthy. I may miss a good game from him until I know otherwise, but I can't afford a goose-egg continuing to start him hoping he's okay.

I definitely don't like to overreact, but it is getting to the point in the season where I am thinking he will never really be a go-to guy in this offense (this year, anyway) and maybe I should be looking at a couple of guys available who are, like Colston and :gulp: maybe even Toomer.

Any Sunday morning update on Jones? It looks like he is playing, but will he play the whole game? Decoy?

Waiver wire down?

Good info here
wonderful, a post critic.if your not amused, then answer the first posters question. I did.thank you and have a nice day
You did not. You answered neither one of his questions. But, wow, I got to learn that Jones will be on your bench. Yippee! Now I can win my league championship. But have a great day. Its sunny by my house today and I'm going to Chicago/Seattle tonight.

I don't think Jones is a good play today. In fact, I think we need to see a decent game (80-90yds 4-5 catches) before he can be a recommended WR3.

BTW: if Colston is on the WW... duh! He's a better option.

when did matt jones get to the level of WR that he's an effective decoy?
Decoy could simply = put the 4.3 forty guy out there and run him deep early and often. Problem w/ that is a 4.3 guy w/ a gimpy groin wouldn't be as effective. He might not have the "name" to command coverages (double team wise), but his speed doesn't hurt and DC's will have to account for him gameplan wise.

Matt Jones clicking with 5 for 71 against Dallas & 6 for 73 against Pittsburgh kinda tells me he's already a good WR #3 when healthy. However, I DO agree with you on Colston.

He's got Horn & Bush to help pull coverage off him (better than Reggie Williams & Ernest Wilford pulling coverage away from Jones IMO) & I think Brees is further along in the QB department than Leftwich (again just my opinion).

i just think you'd get tons more value out of putting a healthy guy out there, like wilford. it's not like defense are going to scramble to cover a gimpy Matt Jones like he's a gimpy Randy Moss.
