Pats with a WR...don't see that at all...they used a #2 and #4 on Wrs last year as well as finding Thompkins and spending a good amount of $ on Amendola...this position is not a priority and if they re-sign Edelman they are basically all set with their unit next year...the skill position they need to address is TE with Gronk's well documented injury history and not having anything too special on the depth chart after him...

:lmao:

Surprised it wasn't 5 WRs with the #1 - 5.

ETA, 14 of 32 are either QBs, WRs or TEs. Yeah, that's gonna happen. :lmao:

With atlanta having no pass rush clowney would never make it past them. I dont like clowney at all, but hell be the first defensive player off the board.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Pick: QB Blake Bortles, Central Florida
Bortles has me worried. I didn't hear of him as a top 7-8 quarterback prospect until the last few days. Now he is looking like a top 10 pick.

Is this just the case of a great performance in a bowl game? Where was the hype on Bortles all year?

Bortles was a late riser but he hit the top 10 conversation 2 months ago, not 2 weeks ago.

1. Houston Texans

2. St. Louis Rams (from Washington)

The Pick: WR Sammy Watkins, Clemson

 not a bad choice, just too high.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Pick: QB Blake Bortles, Central Florida

4. Cleveland Browns

The Pick: QB Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M

5. Oakland Raiders

The Pick: QB Brett Hundley, UCLA

 may happen, but don't see him as a NFL star.

6. Atlanta Falcons

The Pick: OT Jake Matthews, Texas A&M

 Big fan, but don't pass on Clowney

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Pick: DE Jadeveon Clowney, South Carolina

:scared:

10. Detroit Lions

The Pick: CB Justin Gilbert, Oklahoma State

think I'd take Dennard, esp as a hometown guy

12. New York Giants

The Pick: OLB Anthony Barr, UCLA

Falls too far IMO, great pick if he does

18. New York Jets

The Pick: WR Mike Evans, Texas A&M

I've downgraded Evans a lot, to a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

23. Kansas City Chiefs

The Pick: TE Jace Amaro, Texas Tech

sure, but it would be tough to pass on Matthews too. Neither should fall out of the top 5.

Was wondering if it was me, I saw 6 QBs in the top 8 picks...
At least 5 of those teams do need QBs. Not sure if they all go to the draft for them but I don't think it is crazy to say that the Vikes, the Raiders, the Browns, the Jags, and Texans are going to be in the market for a QB.

Several of these teams just recently made the mistake of buying into the hype of an overrated QB class. Hard to believe enough of them are going to do it again. I only think there are 3, maybe 4 QBs deserving the first round.

Personally I don't think the Panthers will be picking a small receiver no matter how good his one year was. So not like I agree with the guy really I just don't think it's completely crazy. And in fact this is the second mock I have seen with a buttload of QBs going early can't remember who did the other one though.

With rookie salaries as cheap as they are, these teams should be picking QBs every single year until they hit on 1.

He's had a good year, not sure it is that good though.
Plenty of evidence to support middling QB prospects being picked early by NFL GM's.
