Matt Prater (1 Viewer)

Don't think so. He had a 4 game suspension, and you can't serve a suspension over a bye week. His team's 4th game is this weekend, so he'll be eligible to return next week. I have to assume he'd walk right back into full time kicking duties, but don't know that for sure.

The guy had a beer at home while on probation from a DUI from like 2011. I don't think he's a risk.

Besides accuracy, he holds the distance record for FG at 64 yards (granted, in that 'light' DEN air).

Think he gets a tryout from at least Detroit this week?

he'll probably be kicking for them next weekend

i would think once he is reinstated det. will be calling his agent and asking him to name his price...

why is everyone so obseesed with this guy?

He is 1 beer away from another suspension.
He is the most accurate kicker in the history of the NFL and he can boom kicks from 50 plus yards like they are 35 yarders.
He's actually the 25th most accurate kicker in NFL history and 16th most accurate active placekicker. As for booming kicks from 50+ yards, playing in Denver half the time didn't hurt, as the high altitude added some distance to his kicks. His accuracy was slightly lower playing on the road. He's a good kicker, but let's not making him out to be the best kicker to ever lace 'em up.

Sorry I misheard the stat. THere was something about one of his seasons that was most accurate in history. I don't know what it was and I agree playing in Denver helps, but he has a strong leg regardless.

If MP signs with Detroit, he might be worth hanging onto for those of us who added him to FF teams the last couple weeks.
I'm definitely keeping him if he signs with the Lions. Proven kicker. Strong leg. Kicking in a dome. Offense, when everyone's healthy, has a lot of potential. Great landing spot for him if he ends up there.

He may not be the greatest, but he's been a lot more consistent then what I've seen out of the kickers the Lions have used.

Haters gonna hate.

Praters gonna prate.

Lions will probably sign Feely, Prater makes too much sense in the real world...and this is the Lions we are talking about.

You are correct that he had the highest single season percentage ever last year on FG, making 25 of 26 FG attempts.
