Mayock's Top 64 (1 Viewer)

Things I like in the top 10.

Houston and Carriker in the top ten. I've been a fan of Houston all along, but a Nebraska fan had to sell me on Carriker. Since then Carriker has been steadily rising in my opinion. A week or so ago, I told Andy Carriker was a top 10 stud. He is DE1 in my rankings.

Things I don't like in the top 10.

I don't have Quinn in my top 10, but then I don't have him as the #2 QB either. I am the outlier on that one. I gave up criticizing Okoye long ago, but I still don't think he deserves this high of a rating (#10).

Things I like in the rest.

I like Ginn as the 2nd WR and pushing the top 10. He would be in mine along with PWillis, so I think Willis is too low. Man, Mayock has Beason ahead of Willis now.

I like Revis pushing the top 10 with Houston in it. They are the two elite CBs in this draft and Hall is properly ranked a healthy drop behind them. I drop Hall a bit further.

I like where he has Meriweather (20), but I think character issues kill him on draft day. Levi Brown seems about right to me. I don't get all the "real early" talk. He's got Reggie Nelson lower than most, which concurs with what I think I might have seen. Nelson is probably the toughest player for me to comfortably rank.

Things I don't like in the rest.

Willis, as mentioned, is too low.

I think Mayock, and just about everyone else, is way too low on the WRs. They are the quality of this class and it is a mediocre class at the other positions. Last year we had great depth at OL and they fell, but the entire class was very strong. Mostly, I'm just interested to see where the WRs are drafted at this point. If they fall they fall, but there's going to be some serious bargains. I give up any efforts to convince people how good they are. Jarrett as the 46th ranked player in the draft is silly to me.

Defensive lineman rank differently for different schemes, but we have extremely different rankings. Oddly, if he just scrunched them together more, I wouldn't be too bothered with different rankings. I sure don't see a huge drop off between Jarvis Moss and Tim Crowder. I could pick any of his top DEs and say the same about him and one of Mayock's bottom DEs. They are difficult to rank and quite similar so spreading them out so much doesn't work for me.

That's very little complaining for me, and as usual, I like Mayock's work and opinions more than anyone else's in the mainstream.

I am with you both. I tend to like Mayock's point of view alot. I think Landry at #4 is a bit a a stretch. top ten, yes.....not so sure about 4.

I do like Okoye in the top ten though. just read a great article on him and if character plays into the draft in the wake of recent suspensions, articles like this will go a long way for him and his draft stock.

I am a little surprised that the WR class isn't getting so much attention. From what I can see it's a pretty deep class.

I love my players from the U but Jon beason should not be ahead of Willis and definitely should not be 14 spots ahead of Paul Posluszny.

Just mu $0.02

4 Rb's in the top 64

Peterson

Lynch

Booker at 44

Leonard at 51

No Pittman, Jackson, Irons, Hunt or Jackson

Posluszny is far too low.
 i don't get that at all.beason above willis raised an eyebrow too.
But if you have caught or get a chance to catch him on 212 this week or weekend, then you will see how he will move players, like Posluszny, up or down based on the player; ability to play multiple positions or within different defensive schemes; character and skills within the special teams/return game as it relates to the team on the hypothetical clock. Last night he predicted Posluszny goes to the Pats with one of their first round picks. He gave the reasons why he would draft Posluszny higher than his actual rating. I really hope that made sense.

That seems reasonable. Linebackers seem out of favor as a whole in the NFL right now anyway. And the good news is that there are FAR more really good athletes in this year's draft than many people thought there would be.

Honestly, I will not be surprised if Peterson and Lynch are the only two drafted in the top 2 rounds. IMO, the primary reason to rank Booker or leonard as 2nd rounders has to do with multiple skill sets and not either's ability to be a true starting NFL RB.

Was going to post the same thing.Wouldn't be surprised at all to see AD & Lynch in the first... 1 RB in the second and none in the 3rd.This reminds me a great deal of the 2003 RB class.1st - 2 - McGahee & L Johnson2nd - 0 - NONE3rd - 4 - Musa Smith, Askew, Chris Brown & FargasBeginning with Day 24th - 9 - Pinner, D. Davis, Onterrio Smith, Q. Griffin, L. Suggs, J. Johnson, J. Griffith, Toefield, MughelliWith this weak class, I can see only 3, maybe 4 RBs go on Day One, then teams jump on the project RBs in RD4 to start Day Two.

There is NO WAY the PATS take Poz.

In the first round, maybe the 2nd (if they trade down) or 3rd.

I think both can start in the NFL - perhaps they aren't the prototype HB you want, but the ability to possibly also play FB makes them highly draftable as you said. Are you using RB to mean specifically HB?

Yes, since fullbacks rarely "run" in today's NFL.
