McCoy for Ware? (1 Viewer)

I'm seriously considering making an offer for Ware in a PPR dynasty league - it's an auction keeper league, and basically I won't be able to keep McCoy next year, but I could keep Ware for a few years if I wanted. KC's RB situation seems a bit volatile with Jamaal maybe coming back next year, Ware's concussion - and McCoy, while he has been an absolute stud when on the field, makes me a little nervous when it comes to a late-season playoff run with a nagging hamstring issue.

Any thoughts on this?

To me it depends on how deep "in the hunt" you are for the playoffs?  Fighting to just make a spot, but probably going to flame out?  Or are you in line for a top seed, and a deep run is probable?  If you're capable of a deep run, then keep McCoy and play for this year.  He's better than Ware, and except for the potential hammy issues I'd rather have him and try to win it this year.  Remember, flags fly forever.  If you've got the ability to win a title, then forget the future, go all out to win that title.  If you go for it and keep McCoy, I'd try to get Gillislee as insurance though if you don't already. 

If you're just hoping to luck into a playoff spot, but don't really think you'll go far, then sure swap for Ware and his keeper potential, since McCoy can't be kept.

I make the trade.  McCoy while good has a long injury record and I don't think Ware is that much of a downgrade.  In fact Ware might an upgrade as he is clear #1 back without injury history and has a little better schedule.  I see them almost equal this year as solid RB1 with high ceilings, but long term id much rather have Ware as McCoy is much older.  Ware is most likely going to be main RB in KC or somewhere next year.

I would make the trade.  I don't have any worries about Charles coming back next year to take touches away.  Ware is the back KC wants and they will use him as a workhorse.  Charles may come back as COP but I think he has lost his burst and is on well on the way down the hill. 

As far as McCoy vs Ware for this year, I don't think there is much difference at all.  Ware was putting up RB1 numbers when he has been in the lineup and he has no competition for touches once he comes back this week.

Make that trade! I agree with the above posts saying Ware is as good if not better this year plus you get to keep him for a couple more years. I'd make that trade in a heartbeat but would be shocked if you didn't have to add a player so the ware owner will accept.

I made this trade in my league. I got Ware for McCoy straight up. Ware is keeper eligible and McCoy is not.
