I had mccoy last year and it seemed like he always had an injury and was listed as questionable going into each game. Has he been injury prone in the past and in college or just last year. One week it was a toe, then an ankle, then a...........you get the point.

I had him last year and I thanked God, Allah, Flying Spaghetti Monster, and whoever else would listen that I got him at 1.12. You sure you were playing fantasy football last year?

Good point. Cut him and pick up Dion Lewis.

i think youre thinking of brian westbrook

If you were out of the playoff race you may not have noticed, but he was constantly banged up at the end of the season.

He was a game time decision in week 13 which is the FFPC championship team and a playoffs for my 36 team league that I am in. I had rice in the FFPC and was fine(and actually won), but had McCoy in my McCoy 36 team league and was not sure what to do given the below info.

Eagles | LeSean McCoy active Thu Dec 1, 07:23 PMEagles RB LeSean McCoy (toe) is active for the team's Week 13 game against the Seattle Seahawks Thursday, Dec. 1.Our view: McCoy is limited according to sideline reporters, so play him with caution.

Eagles | LeSean McCoy to be game-time decision Thu Dec 1, 05:22 PMPhiladelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy (toe) will test his toe in pregame warmups Thursday, Dec. 1, and will be a game-time decision

Then in week 17 he was supposed to play and didn't because of his ankle and he had a shot at the rushing title. On top of that our 36 team league has a bonus week in week 17 for most points that week and him sitting caused me to miss the total points by 1.

It just seemed that he was always dinged up at the most critical time(see updates below on his toe, ankle shoulder). How was his health prior to his pro career?

You went through all that trouble, when all you had to do was realize he only missed week 17 last season.

He started every game, aside from 17.

Failure Police will be making their arrest shortly.

You're kidding with this thread right?

He's the #2 RB behind Rice last year.

I suppose you should've drafted Jamaal Charles :bs:

Makes you wonder if McCoy was really dinged up that badly last year or the Philly coaching staff thought they were pulling off some strategic shenanigans.

(I think I have that guy beat for least posts over the greatest period of time... lol)

It took 3 seconds to cut and paste the news from last year. I know he played 15 games last year, but westbrook would more times than not play 14 or 15 games however it was a nightmare managing your lineup at the last minute hearing that all week he was playing then last minute they would pull him, or having them say he was a game time decision and then playing him. Thing were always at the last minute. I am guessing no one here knows what his past was like in regards to injury so I will keep looking. However, if last year's year end says anything I am expecting more westbrook type numbers(which is awesome) and more westbrook like game time decisions.

Not saying he was bad, just wanted to know his history. But it is pretty clear you guys don't know. I came to this site because there are usually some guys with great info, but it doesn't appear anyone here knows. Thanks, but I will try somewhere else.

Where in the original post did you ask the question, "Is McCoy injury prone"?Don't let the door hit'cha....

Original poster was seeing that McCoy was on the weekly injury report quite a bit last season.

Eagles | LeSean McCoy leaves practice early Thu Aug 2, 04:30 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy (undisclosed) walked off the practice field briskly with trainers and headed to the locker room for more attention Thursday, Aug. 2.

Our view: It was probably nothing serious, but follow up on this injury with us before taking him top three any drafts tonight.

Eagles | Bryce Brown, Chris Polk to get their chances Sat Jul 7, 12:26 AM

Philadelphia Eagles RBs Bryce Brown and Chris Polk will get their chance to show what they can do during training camp and the preseason. It's likely the team only keeps three running backs, and RBs LeSean McCoy and Dion Lewis are one-two on the depth chart.

Our view: Brown was a highly recruited high school RB and his 2009 film from Tennessee is somewhat impressive. He's good in the open field with speed an elusiveness to rack up yards quickly. However, a transfer to Kansas State and lack of work ethic and production there caused him to fall in the 2012 NFL Draft. Polk is arguably the best receiving RB in this class but went undrafted because of chronic shoulder problems. Both backs are talented, but off field/injury issues make them only lottery ticket picks in dynasty leagues.

Eagles | Is Dion Lewis ready for significant role? Tue Jun 26, 10:33 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy is the unquestioned start up top, but it remains to be seen if RB Dion Lewis could step up and fill his role should McCoy miss any time due to injury. If that scenario occurred, the team might be hesitant to lean on Lewis, and they might use more of a committee approach. Lewis saw just 42 offensive snaps during his rookie season last year.

Our view: Lewis is a compact runner, with good balance, vision, and patience. His lack of experience could lead the Eagles to use a RBBC with either rookie Bryce Brown or Chris Polk. At this time the true handcuff to McCoy is Lewis. Make sure to monitor this situation in the preseason.

Eagles | New looks for LeSean McCoy Mon Jun 18, 11:08 PM

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid and offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg came up with new looks during minicamp that split out RB LeSean McCoy, almost as a flanker, to take advantage of his improved receiving skills.

Our view: McCoy should once again be the centerpiece of the Eagles offensive attack. Last year they gave him 321 touches, which was good for fourth-most in the league. McCoy should perform like a high end RB1 again this year and won't fall past the third overall pick in most traditional leagues.

Eagles | Dion Lewis looks to be primary backup Tue Jun 5, 01:50 AM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Dion Lewis has been working hard during the offseason to fill the role of primary backup to RB LeSean McCoy. 'Knowing that there's an opening to get more touches, you know you've got to compete. At the same time, you've got to show it in practice by not making mistakes and making plays,' Lewis said Monday, June 4.

Our view: No surprise here. Fantasy owners who want their McCoy handcuff need to look no further than Lewis. He's built low to the ground, has good footwork, balance, and vision to find cutback lanes. Lewis lacks elite speed but more than makes up for it with instincts and determination. If McCoy were to go down with injury Lewis could perform like a top 15 fantasy RB.

Bears | Other deals affect Matt Forte negotiations Mon May 21, 12:33 AM

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte continues to seek a long-term contract, and the deals of others is likely to affect negotiations.

Our view: There's no question that Forte's agent will point at the new deal for Eagles RB LeSean McCoy. The negotiations between Ray Rice and the Ravens will also be an important mark as both players have similar values to their respective teams. The Bears have the money to give Forte, but seem unwilling to at this time.

Eagles | Announce extension for LeSean McCoy Thu May 17, 06:37 PM

The Philadelphia Eagles agreed to a five-year, $45 million contract extension with RB LeSean McCoy Thursday, May 17, with $20.765 million of it guaranteed.

Our view: McCoy has defied the weak market for RB contract extensions (ask Ray Rice and Matt Forte). Him being only 23 years old probably had something to do with the Eagles willingness to extend McCoy's contract.

Eagles | DeSean Jackson urges LeSean McCoy not to holdout Sat May 12, 10:20 AM

Although Philadelphia Eagles WR DeSean Jackson held out of training camp last summer before playing out the final year of his contract, he urged RB LeSean McCoy to take a different approach as he enters the last year of his deal this offseason. 'I think it would be in his best interest to come' to offseason practices and camp, Jackson said. 'Looking back now it really hurt me more than I thought it helped me. Hopefully he saw everything I went through, and hopefully (agent) Drew (Rosenhaus) won't have him go through the same thing.'

Eagles | May look to cut down LeSean McCoy's reps a bit Sun Apr 29, 04:29 PM

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said the team may have overworked RB LeSean McCoy a bit last season and may have to take some of his reps away has he gets older.

Our view: McCoy is an explosive playmaker and very dangerous as a runner or receiver. He's not the biggest RB in the league and may need to see a few less carries in order to keep him fresh. This could open the door of opportunity for Dion Lewis.

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy (ankle) is not active in Week 17 against the Washington Redskins.

Eagles | LeSean McCoy questionable for Week 17 Fri Dec 30, 06:33 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 30, and is listed as questionable for Week 17. He is expected to play but could be limited during the game.

Our view: If McCoy doesn't get off to a hot start that would get the league rushing title in sight, the Eagles should take it easy on their most valuable offensive player. He still has to be put in week 17 Super Bowl lineups.

McCoy sits at 1,309 rushing yards after a subpar game, 128 yards behind Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew for the rushing title. Eagles | LeSean McCoy has ankle X-rayed after game Sun Dec 25, 12:17 AM

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy (ankle) had his ankle X-rayed after the Week 16 game against the Dallas Cowboys. He managed just 13 carries for 35 yards, and he added one reception for 10 yards.

Our view: McCoy got a lot of owners to championship game, but he didn't follow through after getting hurt. It's still hard to knock him after his consistent elite performance in an offense that went through a QB change and team that had uneven effort this year. He is worth consideration as the #1 overall pick next year.

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy tied a career-high with three rushing touchdowns in Week 15 against the New York Jets. He passed Steve Van Buren for the most touchdowns in a season (20) and most rushing scores (17). McCoy's 20 scores this season lead the league and are tied for the 20th-best single-season total in NFL history.

Our view: McCoy has been doing this on a team that has lost their starting QB on and off for games at a time and lost games more than won them. He should be in consideration for #1 overall fantasy pick next year.

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy scored his 15th touchdown of the season in Week 13, three shy of the franchise-record 18 set in 1945.

Our view: McCoy is one of last Eagles that is still playing like they are in playoff contention, so it will be a shame if he gets shut down early by a toe injury that didn't seem to limit him at all vs. the Seahawks.

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy carried 10 times for 31 yards and a touchdown in Week 12 against the New England Patriots. McCoy also hauled in four balls for 30 yards.McCoy has scored a touchdown in 10 of his 11 games this season.

Eagles | LeSean McCoy's TD streak snapped Mon Nov 21, 01:05 AM

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy had 23 carries for 113 yards in Week 11 against the New York Giants, and he added three receptions for just two yards. He was held mostly in check until squirting free for a 60-yard run in the final moments of the fourth quarter to ice the victory. He had scored at least one TD in each of his first nine games, but that streak is over. However, become the first player in team history to crack 1,000 rushing yards in his team's first 10 games.

Our view: McCoy was banged around all day, often being met in the backfield, but he landed the final and decisive blow in the win. He should find the end zone again next week vs. the Patriots.

Eagles | LeSean McCoy looks to continue streak Tue Nov 15, 10:33 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeSean McCoy has scored a touchdown either on the ground or through the air in each of his nine games this season. He has 10 rushing TDs and two receiving scores. He'll face the New York Giants in Week 11. In his past three games against the Giants, McCoy has at least 111 rushing yards in two of those outings. He has three rushing TDs in five career games against New York.

Funny story.

had McCoy, and never once sat until gametime wondering if he was playing or not.

Big $ league.

Plug and play.

Where's the issue?

I don't think there is one. For some reason, it seems that the OP some how may have taken McCoy being on weekly injury report several times last year and developed a concern that he might be injury prone. Obviously, he is not. The NFL weekly injury report is about as accurate to the truth as tarot cards. My hunch is the OP just took it more seriously than most of us who know better. My post was an attempt to shed light on what it seemed like he was trying to validate, namely whether or not McCoy is injury prone.

Looks like somebody has the #4 pick in their draft and is hoping one of the owners ahead of him reads this board.
