McDonald's is top dining destination for users of legalized marijuana (1 Viewer)

I love McDonald's and I don't care what anyone thinks about that. Gimme a double cheeseburger, 10 piece Mcnugget, chocolate shake, and large fry and I'm set. I love it and don't care what you think.
I used to sneer at the thought of McD's, but if I am going break down and eat fast food for the sake of convenience, Ronnie Mac my first choice nowadays. Their biscuits are straight up crack.

ETA: Love the calorie representation on the menu too. Where I might otherwise be blind to 1500 calories, I instead do due diligence and walk out with an 800-900 calorie meal. Not perfect, I know.

How much $ does that set you back? It isn't as cheap as it used to be.

Jesus, i wasn't expecting all the hate.

The menu choices i posted come to about $7.00. I get fast food one night  a week, on Friday. It's my kid's tradition. Friday is fast food night  Usually it's Little Caesar's pizza. McDonald's is an improvement.

And I'll  just  at those who call me 'Fatty.' I'm 6'8" tall and weigh 205. You wanna make fun of my weight? Call me "Beanpole" instead of "Fatty." I can use the extra calories.

I like McDonald's. You wanna hate? Go ahead. But I'm not some 400 pound loser that eats nothing but fast food.

I'm with you. My go-to is a Big-Mac, a double cheeseburger, and a large fry. That's one heck of a meal.

Huh. My oldest son is a fussy eater and likes the 6 pc McNuggets. I thought they are usually around $5 by themselves.

Let me get you some dessert.  ;)

I just had a sausage McMuffin with egg meal with hash browns and coffee for $5 and it was delicious and I'm full

I have nothing against fast food but McDonalds is just gross.  The burgers and nuggets specifically.  Fries are good though.

Fries and breakfast is all I can stomach there. The breakfast sandwiches and hash browns are miraculous in a pinch for a bone-crushing hangover.

Aren't you in Canada?  Maybe it's more expensive in the Great White North.
Yes I'm in Canada. But, Google still shows a 10 pc McNuggets being $4.49 in the good old USA. Price isn't the important factor when discussing McDs. I've just found better options that aren't much more money.

I do like that McDonalds doesn't put mayonnaise on every burger.  I normally try and get something that doesn't have mayo standard since if you ask for no mayo places screw up about 50% of the time.  I went to Panera recently and the grilled cheese is the only sandwich on the menu that doesn't come with mayo standard.

I don't know what it is with McDonalds but I used to get bad ingestion from their burgers and/or fries so I stopped eating there years ago.  If I am in a hurry and need a FF burger I'll go with a Wendy's classic single over Mickey D's.

I smoke a lot, and haven't been to one in years. I'm also a 5 minutes walk from, like, 20 pretty tasty eateries. I might have to hit up Lloyd's later today.

When I was a kid McDonald's used to taste different . It was much better than it is now. They used to cook their fries in beef tallow until the president of McDonald's had heart issues and blamed those issues on McD's using tallow to fry stuff in. They changed to hydrogenated soybean oil (and other oils) and ditched the beef tallow. It turns out that beef tallow is actually heart healthy and hydrogenated soybean oil is about as bad for your heart health as an oil can be. So if you ate McD's when you were a kid it actually wasn't as bad for you as was previously thought and much better health-wise than it is now. A little monday mcnugget for you to chew on.

Malcolm Gladwell, is that you??

(He has a great episode of Revisionist history about the fries. )

McDonald's is a unique phenomenon to me. I loved it as a kid and ate enough of it to where my body was probably used it. I also was a very active kid and likely burned off those empty calories quickly and without issue.

When I got into my early to mid 20s and started to care very much about my appearance and therefore my diet, I pretty much stopped eating McDonald's. Nonetheless, about once per year, I'd get this incredibly strong craving for it so I'd stop and get some of my favorites: Big Mac, Filet o' Fish, nuggets, or fries. The first couple of bites of whatever were glorious but, strangely, before I would even finish the first item the bites would go from thinking I was eating ambrosia to just pure disgust with the flavor and what I was eating. So, usually, I'd throw most of it out and not get a craving until the next year. So weird the disparity between the first bite and like the fifth. I cannot think of another food or restaurant that does this for me.

Now, with four kids, the McDonald's stops are inevitable because, I assume because of the salt content and the Happy Meals, McDonald's is like the one restaurant aside from In N' Out that the kids can all agree on and it's a certainty they'll like and eat their food. So, since it's the much faster and more accessible option, it' probably something I'll have while traveling with them or in a pinch to grab something quick like once per month. When I do, I'll usually get two of the McDouble's and eat just the patties with one of the bun slices and I usually feel okay thereafter. Of course, I'll also eat some of my kids' leftover fries and/or nuggets because I hate food waste and it'll leave me feeling crummy thereafter. But, I can't help it either.

My mom's husband is a general contractor, so that means McDonald's was usually on the menu certain days.

He gave it up a long time ago, it was messing with his tummy. He had a theory that a sausage McMuffin would re-form, in its original shape, after you eat it. This explaining the stomach pain. 😂

ok fatty

I still go every day, sometimes twice. 80% of the time I just get large diet cokes. Those other times I get a double cheese burger or two. But I don't lick/eat the buns, just the burgers.
