McGahee to Denver? (1 Viewer)

Chris Brown, the official Bills blogger has alluded to that possibility a few times now but with sort of a wink wink type delivery. I have a feeling that talks are seriously underway about moving McGahee to Denver.

in that scenario, I think the Bills would be smart to try and make the trade conditional....something like a 2nd that could be bumped up to a 1st if he meets certain performance thresholds and/or signs a long-term deal there.

he doesn't strike me as a typical Denver back, but I imagine he would still be successful there.

EDIT: since we're likely talking about a 2007 draft pick here, I guess that wouldn't really work. anything less than a 2nd from Denver though and this is a bad deal for the Bills.

If so, then he won't be running all over the Jets 2 times a year, so I won't be too upset.......and he would fit well in the one-cut scheme of Shanny.

it's too bad we don't already have a thread dedicated to speculation on the Bronco RB situation. I'd bet this news might have broken there first.

 I would think more along the lines of a 3rd which could be bumped to a 2nd.I agree that a conditional pickwould be the intelligent way to goabout dealing McGahee.I think he can blow up in the Denver system. Both sides can protect themselves with a deal of this nature.

Yesterday my sources indicated Thomas Jones would be the running back headed to Denver. The landsacpe has obviously changed with Plummer having been dealt to Tampa Bay. My source feels that Thomas Jones is still headed towards Denver very soon. I'll keep my ears on it.
Might want to keep your ears on the Plummer story too.

the only problem is i think the Bills would be looking for immediate compensation in this years draft.

But if the Bills make that deal and something happens where it stays a 3rd for some reason then it would be a shame if thats all they got for him. Willis should be worth much more than a 3rd. Quick question though, why do you write like that?

This reminds me of the ESPN News commercial where the guy's butt started talking about sports. He was talking through his...

....ignorance. I told people I had sources when it obvious I didn't. But now, thank to ESPN News, I know what I'm talking about and I can keep up with the latest NFL news.

The Broncos are seriously pursuing Willis McGahee, according to the Denver Post.

Keeper league owners cross your fingers. The Broncos will also host Ahman Green this weekend. He was earlier reported to be in Denver. The Broncos are also reportedly "determined" not to let Patrick Kerney leave town without signing. Mar. 2 - 6:55 pm et

I wonder who has more interest in the Broncos RB search--the Broncos or FF owners of McGahee/Jones/Chris Brown/anyone?

That doesn't need to be asked (McGahee owner in 2 leagues)That being said, now the Buffalo has signed 3 lineman, it is a win win as long as some other lame team doesn't enter the market for Willis

Sir,There is no schtik. I am merely providing a service to this board. When my industry sources share nuggets of insider information with me I like equally share them with all of you. This is an exciting time of the NFL year, I'll keep my ears open.
I can't believe this clown has not had his posting privileges taken away yet

As an owner of McGahee in a number of dynasty leagues, this would be terrific.

Problem I see with this scenario is that he's going to want a good amount of money and I doubt Denver gives up a worthwhile pick without having him agree to some sort of extension.

Who really sees Shannahan paying good money for a RB?

Bring Ahman in to show Buffalo they may not be all THAT interested in McGahee and MAY be looking at AG.......nice coverup...not sure if Willis is the cut-back style RB they need there....

I thunk Thomas Jones fits best with what the Brincs are doing running the ball.

Don't you just hate it when you hear people use "like" in every sentence? I bet they struggle in job interviews. It really adds doubt about their intelligence. Whenever I'm in a conversation with someone that does that, I find myself waiting for the next "like" rather than listening to what they are saying. Edited to say that wasn't aimed at anyone on this board, but mainly to some young adults in general.Sorry for the hijack, but whenever someone makes a reference to those who use the word "like" all the time, I can't help but jump in.

I'd rather see denver save their picks and $, and sign a capable fill in player like Ahman or THenry for a year or two while a young draft RB develops.

Problem is Denver doesnt run their team like you run your dynasty FF team. They are trying to win the SB this coming year which means they need to get a very good RB.

No, no, no, remember, Denver is the team that could plug in your grandmother and she would get a 1000 yds, right?

No. If denver's looking to make a run at the superbowl then their priority is to shore up the D line, add safety & o line depth. This will require draft picks and cap space for FAs (kerney & graham). Green or Henry are more than capable until a rookie develops or a value FA hits the market.

Looks like Henry is Denvers top choice, and they are still in negotiations with him. read it on a thread at another board, and it had a link, probably Denver post.

Lamont Jordan will probably get cut today or tomorrow, and there are murmurings on Raider boards, that the Raiders may have interest in McGahee.
