Megyn Kelly says Santa Claus and Jesus were white (1 Viewer)

I'm usually on your side Tim, but there is a huge thread about her already with at least a page of white Santa discussion. Were I still a mod, I would merge this thread with that one.

OK, wasn't aware of that. I searched for Megyn but I didn't think the other thread was connected. If the mods want to merge or end this thread, fine by me,

I disagree here. One of the problems on this board is that people are afraid to make new topics, and instead threads with pages and pages of old discussion frequently get bumped. It makes it hard to know if the thread you're making is a "Honda". Much easier to follow and discuss current events if they have their own threads.

If Santa Claus is indeed Saint Nicholas then his ethnicity becomes a matter of historical fact

By most accounts, Jesus was Jewish with a Jewish mother .

In 2nd grade I played Santa Claus in our school play. The significance of it was completely lost on me until I was a lot older. I don't think anyone complained about it.

I love that story where he goes all mashugganeh on the money changer's tables.

as opposed to what?
Mexican
I love that story where he turns 2 tacos and 5 enchiladas into 50,000 plates of arroz con pollo.
Still not as impressive as what he did with Tequella. And it was the good stuff too.

Correct, the worst thing that could happen here is a guy like Tim being hesitant to start a new thread since he so rarely starts them.

Wait, wait, wait...

A half black, half white Santa you say?

THIS IS JUST A PLOY TO GET PEOPLE TO ACCEPT OBAMA AS SANTA, ISN'T IT? :tinfoilhat:

there are tons of letters mailed to santa every year and every one of these letters is addressed to Santa Claus. The Post Office has delivered them. Therefore the Post Office Department, a branch of the Federal Government, recognizes this man Kris Kringle to be the one and only Santa Claus.

I just saw Santa at the mall. He was white...

And the Santa at a mall in LA with a predominantly black clientele is black...

The Crenshaw mall now has both a black Santa and a Spanish-speaking Latino Santa, a nod to the demographic shift. (LA TIMES)

And Nordtsrom has Santas of various races so that, should parents choose, they can have a picture of their child taken with a Santa of their race.

The above has been going on for decades and absolutely nobody cares -- including Megyn Kelly. If she did care she could have raised the issue years ago. Instead, Kelly isn't saying that you can't have a black Santa or Asian Santa at your event, she's saying that Harris' proposal that we should completely eradicate white Santa is ridiculous because, well, Santa is a historically white folklore figure. Harris' position is far more extreme and fringe than Kelly's.

By the way, the only Santa event I went to this holiday season had a majority black attendance and was run by black people. They hired a white Santa. I didn't notice any of the kids or parents being visibly upset because, once again, Harris' position does not have wide support.

And what's with the belly full of jelly and eating cookies all the time? What we need is a slimmer, paleo Santa as well.

I always wondered if the Easter bunny wasn't really a badger with over grown ears
Looks more like a Kangaroo.
The Easter Bunny is based on St. Peter, the first pope, who was in fact a rabbit. Proof is everywhere. Look at the Pope's hat. It makes no sense, except that it was originally designed for a rabbit.
This would be a great topic for Tim to start on the origin of the Easter bunny
