Images of Santa Claus were further popularized through Haddon Sundblom’s depiction of him for The Coca-Cola Company’s Christmas advertising in the 1930s. The popularity of the image spawned urban legends that Santa Claus was invented by The Coca-Cola Company or that Santa wears red and white because they are the colors used to promote the Coca-Cola brand. Historically, Coca-Cola was not the first soft drink company to utilize the modern image of Santa Claus in its advertising—White Rock Beverages had already used a red and white Santa to sell mineral water in 1915 and then in advertisements for its ginger ale in 1923. Earlier still, Santa Claus had appeared dressed in red and white and essentially in his current form on several covers of Puck magazine in the first few years of the 20th century

Santa was also on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post in 1919.

It seems like Coca Cola simply took the White Rock ads and ran with it.

hot chicks have sideline reporter and news anchor all wrapped up. The weird thing is I'm OK with uggos being in those jobs.

 
She gave us our commencement speech last year. Very down to earth, even came backstage before the ceremony to give us all a locker-room peptalk and to shoot the S for a bit. Class act in my book.

 
It will be interesting to see the reformulation of opinions about her.  where once she was accepted she will now be marginalized, and vice versa.

I would not have guessed she had three children.

 
I think it's good to have a more conservative voice on the mainstream media channels.  I'd say it's a good move both for conservatives and liberals to see more integration.

I wonder how much she was just playing the conservative.  I suspect she'll try to play it middle of the road with NBC.

I think she's conservative in general, but she is pretty strong in defense of women's issues which seems to have her be more center, or left of center on those topics.  I think to some that makes her a poor fit for Fox News, but for me, she's a person, intelligent and well educated, who seems to lean right and will be a good addition to the MSM.

On the contrary...I think most reasonable people's views of her improved tremendously after her fair questions of Trump and how she responded to his personal attacks on her.

 
Leaving a prime time weeknight show for daytime television and Sunday evening is not considered a step up for news anchors.

Buh bye, Megyn. NBC is a much better for venue for your brand of relentless self-aggrandizement anyway.

That's from her facebook page announcing it.

I found this line to be intriguing:  "especially to all of the FNC viewers, who have taught me so much about what really matters"  Perhaps i'm reading too much into it but I think that could be taken multiple ways.

Edit to add:

The top comment on her FB page, with 1,894 likes as of now is this from Brandon Stanley:

"You betrayed your viewers. You disrespected our President-elect. Worst of all, you misrepresented who you really were all these years. With all of the energy I can muster, good riddance. You deserve a second rate news program."
