So we're at the first major mile stone of the season, memorial day week, who are you guys liking on the wire right now?

Carlos Pena has been raking and I'd be all over him if he weren't Carlos Pena.

Ryan Garko looks like he's coming into his own.

John Buck's made a hay at catcher, nothing earth shaking, but for a wire pick.

Who else ya got?

Wow.....I play in deeper leagues than that I guess. I'm hoping players like Jason Hammel, Adam Jones, Joey Gathright, etc. come up "soon".

FWIW, it looks like Garko is worth an immediate pick up regardless of what happens with Andy Marte.

I'd pick up Escobar, Lincecum, and Youks. Let Burnett sit there until after his next start. He threw 127 pitches in another CG yesterday. His next outing will likely be shakey unless he's getting an extra day of rest somehow.

I picked up Pena a couple weeks ago now and he's helped me a lot. Careful going forward with him because he could lose mre playing time. He was benched twice in the last 4 days cause of tough left handed pitchers.

So for deeper leagues I'd grab......

Kevin Slowey if he's available. I'm sure he's rostered in any type of keeper league. But he's likely to get the call up this week or next. Ortiz was sent down but his spot could be skipped due to the extra day off.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia could get some starts at 1st base.

Tony Gwynn Jr is getting some steals and should help score runs. Lots of talent to drive him in.

Matt Garza. Should get call up by the break. Minny might be shopping Baker.

Chris Iannetta. Sleeper catch is getting hot.

Eddie Guardado. Starting his rehabb assignments today.

Homer Bailey. Will he get a call??

Micah Owings. CG last ime out.

Zack Greinke. Could get some save opps.

Carlos Villanueva. Good middle relief. And due to a short handed staff, he'll see a lot of action.

Reggie Willits. High batting average. Scores lots of runs and gets steals.

Jay Payton. Good batting average. No power

Taylor Buchholz. Last two starts were solid

Yovani Gallardo. Possible call up?

Alan Embree. Cheap saves for another week or two.

Sergio Mitre. Likely rostered in most leagues. Bench him for his next start or offer a trade for him after next start.
