It is a lot less silly than Psych. Even though the "gimmick" is similar - the shows are quite different in tone and the interpersonal dynamic of the cast.If I just continue watching Pysch, does that count?
My thoughts exactly. They just took Psych and made it serious. Seems like a pretty lame premise if it's not a comedy. I'll pass.I saw previews for it. So it's basically Psych without the silliness right? I'll stick to Psych.
I will say though they didn't make it all serious. They are fallowing the 'House' formula of the quirky, kinda mean-funny, but endearing main character. Like I said, they intrigued me enough to get me to watch again. My thoughts exactly. They just took Psych and made it serious. Seems like a pretty lame premise if it's not a comedy. I thought the main character's dialogue was very Josh Weadon like.I will say though they didn't make it all serious. Psych is a show on the USA Network about a guy who helps the local police department solves crimes by pretending to be a psychic, but really just has extraordinary observation skills.Have no idea what "Psych" is.You guys are so sure of yourselves, that people sit home and watch everything, huh?I liked The Mentalist a lot and I will continue to dvr and watch it.
No one is suggesting you shouldn't do just that.I liked The Mentalist a lot and I will continue to dvr and watch it.
Actually, I am.No one is suggesting you shouldn't do just that.I liked The Mentalist a lot and I will continue to dvr and watch it.
I like Simon Baker and liked this show - it does have "quirk potential"I don't like Psych. It isn't even the same premise. He is not pretending to be a psychic. While he did in his past, he didn't work with the police then. He was a John Edwards-type.
i thought it was real. and that was why, when he was trying to get on the case after being suspended, he said "red john is mine." also, the doctor said he was sorry about what happened to his family, even though he didn't talk about it in his session. It seems to me like the entire premise of this show is they are going to be chasing down "red john" and solving some other crimes while they're at it.Did "red john" really kill his wife? I can't tell if that's real or not.
I'm thinking it's real too..When he was sitting with the Dr. that's what he had going through his mind, but he gave the other story and then at the end of the show, when he laid down on the mattress on the floor, there was a red john smiley face still on the wall above him.It doesn't matter anyway, they will end of killing this show like 5 episodes in, just when it's getting good and leave us hanging, like they did to me when I started watching Smith.i thought it was real. and that was why, when he was trying to get on the case after being suspended, he said "red john is mine." also, the doctor said he was sorry about what happened to his family, even though he didn't talk about it in his session. It seems to me like the entire premise of this show is they are going to be chasing down "red john" and solving some other crimes while they're at it.Did "red john" really kill his wife? Liked it well enough to watch it again. Psych's "comedy" is too silly for my taste.
2nd Presidential debate is next Tuesday. The 2nd episode aired on Tuesday.Has there been a second episode yet? My DVR didn't catch it. And it looks like there's no episode next Tuesday either.

Yep. Only two so far.Decent show. The second episode was about the redheaded girl that was found dead, right? I've only seen that one and the first one, so I'm guessing that is it. It hasn't made the must see list yet, but there is room considering House is the only show on that list for me, network wise.
OK, found it and watched it. Another pretty entertaining episode. I guess I'll keep watching....and Amanda Righetti was smokin' hot in it.2nd Presidential debate is next Tuesday.
