Merriman vs S. Phillips? (1 Viewer)

Just curious what the impact will be on Shaun Phillips when Merriman returns. Phillips has been a decent find this year and really hasn’t had a bad game when he’s played. I think he was out for a two of the games when Merriman was suspended. Will Phillips still get in on the action or will his production decrease? Merriman is a stud for sure and will get to the QB but maybe that will force the QB into Phillips grasp? Just curious and would like to get some IDP gurus opinions. Not to turn it into a WSIS topic, but right now I have Urlacher, Ad. Thomas, & Phillips starting, with Cato June on the bench and need to make sure I have a strong line up. I made the mistake of benching Ad. Thomas this weekend for Phillips, thankfully it didn’t cost me too much.

Phillips is putting up similar numbers every game and was doing it with Merriman in the lineup

I think his stats will remain solid and consistent once Merriman gets back. He doesn't seem to be the breakout player Merriman can be with a 3 sack game, but I think he's more consistent. He gets a sack and a big play (FF, PD) every songle game

I just dropped Kampman for him last week because Phillips is about as consistent week to week kas they come

decent ?? what kind of settings has your league ?

1) he has better stats than Merriman

2) with Merriman on the field

5 games: 21tkl, 6sacks, 2ff, 3pd

He should do better with the SD def intact and whole.

I think Godfrey's and Edwards numbers will take a hit with the return of Merriman more than Phillips will. Phillips isn't even 100% and puts up good numbers.
