tHEY ARE TRYING TO PUSH a round peg through a square hole. Lidge is not only getting hit hard, he's giving away baserunners, which is not what you want out of the bullen.

Trade him to Tampa/Boston/etc for a 5th starter and a young arm and be done with it.

Just some 'insider' info here....it seems there is an internal conflict within the Astros organization between Tim Prupora and Phil Garner concerning Brad Lidge.

In case you didn't know, Prupora was the assistant GM to Hunsicker for a number of years and responsible for a lot of their draft picks, in particular their foreign draft picks. He is pretty loyal to the guys he scouted and followed throughout the years and obviously thinks highly of them and is reluctant to let them go. Garner on the other hand is a 'players' coach, who runs out guys who've earned their due and plays to win every game. I'm fairly sure Garner wants to dump Lidge ASAP and get some bullpen or SP help. I don't think Prupora is as apt to get rid of Lidge just yet, as he views him with Astro colored glasses and thinks he still has the potential of a dominant closer

I don't think either one of them should be employed unless a franchise needs a new bat boy.
