Mets fans... (1 Viewer)

It will get done. Neither side wants this to fall apart. Santana wants to be a Met, and is FAR from guaranteed to get as much from another team as the Mets would give him (not to mention possibility of getting hurt, having an off year and making LESS).

The Mets can't afford to tease their friends. It will get worked out.

Agreed, I'm hearing extension on this negotiation.

I'm they're off by $10 million and they should be getting an extension.

Edit. Mets have asked for a 2 hour extension.

per espn:

NEW YORK -- Johan Santana and the New York Mets completed contract negotiations Friday, the last major step needed to finalize the team's blockbuster trade with Minnesota.

After the sides were granted an extra two hours to work on a deal, they finished negotiations before the new 7 p.m. EST deadline. The pitcher is scheduled to take a physical, the Mets said.

Its DONE.

Wow man. What a freaking pickup.

From Metsblog, some winter league stats:

OF Endy Chavez, .476 (10-for-21), 2 RBI, 1 3B, 2 SB in six games - ok, small sample size, but nice to see. What a great player when he doesnt have to play more than 30% of the games.

2B Ruben Gotay, .261, 12 RBI, 6 2B in 115 at-bats - Not so good.

2B Anderson Hernandez, .174, 12 RBI, 4 2B, 4 SB in 126 at-bats - Ok, guess he is not going to learn to hit. At least not this year.

RHP Jorge Sosa, 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 8 K, 1 BB in 7.2 innings pitched - small sample but encouraging
