if the steelers take mcclain i'm gonna blow my brains out.

Why would the Chargers want to pair Best with Sproles at RB? Don't they both strike you as complementary backs who aren't big enough to move the pile?

In the other thread, you said "Clausen is not that good. I think he slips out of the 1st round." Now you have him going to Cleveland at 7.
I re-evaluated the first round, I think Holmgren might just take a chance on Claussen.I still think he won't pan out in the NFL.
In other words, you think Holmgren is an idiot when it comes to QBs. Well, that is an unconventional point of view.

Holmgren also has a history of being very forthright with his opinions, even during the misinformation weeks leading up to the draft. And he has been pretty critical of Clausen. So I would be shocked if they took him.

McClain = Giants @ 15

if he's gone when they pick @ 15, it wouldn't surprise me to see them take Ryan Matthews at that spot.they need a

steady dependable RB in the worst way.

Both Mays and Earl Thomas drop out of round 1? :( -QG
He has Thomas going to SF at 13, but left Mays out. I'm pretty sure if he's there for the Eagles at 24, they'll grab him.
Taylor Mays is a physical freak, but he may depend too much on his physicality over fundamentals.I could see him going to the Bengals, it was hard to drop him out of the 1st round.1 interception in 3 seasons is a glaring red flag.

The Jaguars are really happy with Derrek Cox (3rd round last year), so it's hard to imagine them taking Haden. I guess they could theoretically move Mathis back to safety.

I'm starting to get a strong feeling that the Jaguars are going to take either Earl Thomas or Rolando McClain. Those are two guys that have a lot of buzz all of sudden. If they take McClain they'll put him in the middle with Smith and Durant outside.

Holmgren has forgotten more about QBs than you'll ever learn.

I think either Haden, Thomas or McClain would be a good fit for the Jags defense.

I can see Mays dropping out of round 1. Don't think it's likely, but certainly not impossible. My post basically loses its meaning with the realization that Thomas was in fact in the first round.-QG

Lots of mocks have Spiller going to 49ers... mainly because the coach came out and siad he would like to draft spiller to take the load off of Frank Gore.

I'm not thrilled about it since Gore only got about 220 carries last year as it was. Unfortunatley, Gore has such small traded value right now (in dynasty leagues) that I'm all but forced to keep him on my roster and make the most of it. It is somewhat baffling considering he was the #5 overall RB last year and he's not even 27 yrs old yet.

But his value is what it is, and apparently no one wants to rely on him as their primary fantasy running back for the next few years.

Spiller to 49ers at 17 seems out of place. Are they unhappy with Gore and Coffey?
I don't think Coffee impressed anyone with his 2.7/carry running.
I would be happy if the 9ers took Spiller even at #13. In today's NFL you need at least 1 good starter and a very good #2 guy. I just don't believe Coffey is gonna contribute what you need from your #2 rb. Spiller certainly would and immediately gives the 9ers more offensive impact and return benefits. Since they desperately need Oline and secondary help they could go BPA at 17, then address OL or DB. Whichever position they don't take at 17 they could get in the 2nd. I say if they take Spiller at 13 they take the best DB at 17 and get their OLineman the second round.

I hate to see the Packers settle in all these mocks. Kyle Wilson....yippee. If you're going to go for need I'd rather see an OT then.

What I'd much rather see if this is how the draft goes is Kindle or Hughes taken 23rd. A bookend to Clay Jr. who could make an instant impact on the defense this year. Kyle Wilson won't make that instant impact.

Most people think that Holmgren knows a few things about QBs. You are going against the grain if you say that he doesn't. (I can't believe I had to explain that statement.) Most of these comments were prior to Clausen's pro day and frankly there was a lot of people saying he was over-rated. Even Holmgren has changed his tune. He originally said "I wish I liked him more" and now he is saying stuff like this.

"I would not read too much into that statement,'' said Holmgren. "Prior to the draft, I'll say any number of things for any number of reasons. When Jimmy came in, we talked about that little statement. I'm not going to tell you why (I said it). I had my reasons and we'll leave it at that.''

He added, "We had a good talk. He had a good visit here. I like him. He's a good football player. His interview time with us, I thought went very well.''

no way Clausen makes it past 6-7-8-9-10... all those team need a QB
I don't think even the Raiders are dumb enough to pass on Clausen - or Dez for that matter - for the 4th OT in the draft.
I think it would be wiser to trade the pick to Pittsburgh for Big Ben.I just don't see Claussen as the answer. Too many holes in Oaklandto use the #8 pick on a 2nd tier rookie QB, imo.

I agree, but I don't think Ben is truly available - at least not at a reasonable price. I still think they should go after Jason Campbell since he won't be much of a risk. They should trade down from the #8 and get up more picks even if they lose some value on the charts. They could get Bruce Campbell much later.

As a 49er fan, not sure they take 2 safties, I think they hit A DB Hayden or Thomas and go OL if the kid from Rutgers is there. Dream picks would be dez Falling grab him with Crabtree then pick up a MCCoy or Tebow in 2nd round get rid of Alex Smith and Carr both Suck....

Call me crazy... The more I see Bradford in all of the mocks going #1, the more convinced I am that the Rams take Suh. I just can't see taking a young QB with a struggling offense in every situation. I would almost shore up your offensive positions before draftin a QB that will get killed in that offense. From that image, I think you take the best player on the board that will provide immediate impact (Suh) and then pull the trigger in the 2nd round on your QB, where don't have to pay as much for a person that won't provide immediate impact until 1-2 years down the road.
