Miami at New Orleans-Battle of undefeated teams on MNF! (1 Viewer)

I'm sure Miami is going to be an underdog and rightly so. We have an absolute lock down on the best Saints fans of any board I've seen. They know what it's like to suffer for years and years with nothing, battle thru natural disasters and still win a Super Bowl. I feel the Saints are right there with Seattle for the top 2 teams in the NFC right now...Chicago likely in the conversation as well but I just happen to lean more to the Saints and Seahawks right now.

Miami has surprised everyone including the fans down here. I hope we have a strong showing even if we do not win, Cameron Wake is out for the next month so Miami is going to need others to fill that void as impossible as that might be. I'm looking forward to the game, as well as some great insight and analysis from the NO fan base.

Here's to what will hopefully be a fun game and a good measure of where Miami is at. This will be the first MNF game I am actually looking forward to watching this season. Most of the match ups have been pretty meh but this should be an exciting game.

I'm excited about it for sure. I think Miami will be the toughest test yet for the Saints. Obviously, I feel much better about this matchup without Wake in the picture. The dome will be ridiculous for MNF, and should be enough to get the Saints through this one.

I'm guessing the Saints score late in the 4th to make a close game look worse than it was. 28 -17.

I think the defense will be tested for New Orleans, Miami will take some shots with Wallace and Hartline. After this game we'll see how good both of these defenses really are. Miami has been bend don't break.

How is Miami's offensive line? How are they against a good 3/4 blitz oriented defense? New Orleans secondary is somewhat upgraded this season from last season with Lewis and vaccaro back there. They have been getting turnovers in almost every game so far. scoring wise they have held their opponents to an average of less than 20pts and are presently ranked 11th in defense. Not stellar but enough to help that offense.

If the defense performs like it has been - people will be surprised. Games are still being prognosticated and discussed based on last year's story lines.

This reminds me somewhat of 2009, the Jets came in at 3-0 to face the 3-0 Saints. Darren Sharper took a pick at the goal line and took it all the way in, breaking Tommy Myers old interception return record dating back to 1978. It might have been that moment that that special feeling started to really grow, that something great was happening and was about to happen. The next game they faced the 5-0 Giants, just like the Saints may next meet a 4-0 Bears team. The Dolphins game in 2009 (in Mia) was also a big deal for the Saints as they had a big comeback win to go 6-0, and that just continued the drive to the Championship.

I'm not sure Tannehill has faced this kind of home stadium environment yet. I'm a fan of the guy and the Phins and what they're building there, but they will need to get out the way.

The Saints, Bears and Hawks are in a race for homefield advantage in the NFC playoffs. All three teams have the kind of home field where it is a big boost to going all the way. If the Saints get past this, the next big one will be the Bears, in CHI, and that could 4-0 Vs 4-0.

On a FF level I'm wondering if Mr. Robinson will be making his bow nationally, we shall see.

Thanks for highlighting what is truly going to be the outstanding game of the week in the NFL.

As always, I will be IN That Number!

I'll bump this for tonight, not a lot of talk leading up to the game, I think both teams are a little concerned tonight, certainly Miami has the uphill battle. I don't think Miami is going to blow out the Saints so that is not happening. Saints blowing out Phins? 20% chance of that I'll say. Saints winning and covering the spread? Probably about 40-50%, could see something like 31-21 and they cover in that scenario. Then I think there is a 30% chance that Miami will keep it close and the game could go either way with say something like 27-24 and Miami wins the game outright or covers the spread.

NO covers-50%

NO Blowout-20%

Close game either way-30%

What say you?

This is going to be a great game. We get to find out if Miami is for real. I hope they win to keep our work crews dream of Miami hosting a wildcard game alive (we go on a playoff trip every year).

Go Phins!

Having said that...34-17 Saints. :(

Cheering for a New Orleans rout tonight with emphasis on the defensive turnovers and scores. If Miami happens to score some points, let them be via Hartline or Clay, and not so much to Wallace. And nothing but PAT's from the Saints kicker. That about sums it up!

The Saints have had an excellent record on MNF under Payton.

City's covered in black and gold.

The win by Seattle and the loss by Chicago gives just that extra incentive to the Saints, this is a battle for NFC homefield advantage tonight.

It will be guns blazing all right, they started picking up steam with 31 vs the Cards, I think they put up 40 tonight.

But I'm thinking the defense is thinking this could be their national statement game.

By the way I just can't stop laughing thinking of all those damn preseason predictions of Atlanta winning the NFCS, too funny.

Tailgate starts about 2:30, y'all.

Hope Wake plays

And we'll see if the speed upgrade at LB in Wheeler & Ellerbe can cover Graham.

Dolphins playing with house money tonight.

As a Phins fan I'm just hoping for a good game. The way I see it New Orleans should win and will be hurt by a loss. Miami on the other hand as long as they play a good game, say 31-27 can come away saying they have measured themselves against one of the best and they are close and ready to take that next step.

I don't root for either of these teams per se just the fantasy players I have on both teams ... that said this is going to be a very interesting game from a judgment pov on the Dolphins - I don't think they have been getting credit for playing as well as they have. I think the Saints win the game but the score will likely be dictated by the flow and there is no way to figure that out from a FF player's perspective.

Interesting to see if Miami can slow down Brees at all but I think they will score on the Saints - I just hope Tannehill doesn't have a huge game and the way the Saints D has been playing that does seem unlikely

Yes, of course I have a FF interest in the game - but I think it is in my favor - I need Graham to have his normal good game and need Graham, Colston, and the Dolphins good young K to be 20.15 better than Tannehill

I'm interesting in seeing a high scoring game

Ideally, Lamar Miller rips off 2 long TD runs early. Brees & company come roaring back and score quickly forcing MIA to throw the ball to Charles Clay but not Mike Wallace. I need Mike Wallace to continue his non-factorness.

Under my scenario, 42 points down doesn't seem insurmountable.

I bleed Aqua and Coral, but I'm also being realistic. Injury reports is not looking pretty with a knee sprain for the best pass rusher in the league Cameron Wake, big run stuffer Paul Soliai also dealing with knee issues and sitting at 50 - 50 chance to play, as well as minor injuries to both Dannell Ellerbe and Koa Misi in the LB corps. I think these injuries will have a negative effect upon the pressure and the pass rush giving Brees time to find the open receiver. If you don't bring pressure against the Saints, they'll eat you up and this is the National stage at home on Monday night. I'm always a true Phin fan, but things are not looking good in my opinion.

Saints 34 - Dolphins 20

It's been a long time coming for Dolphins fans. The opening of the season is brutal. One home game in the first four games, fans were hoping for a 3-2 start before the season, and say 2-3 as realistic. A healthy Dolphins team would make this game interesting, and an upset possible. The injuries will hurt the defense. I actually would like to see an increase of playing time for Dion Jordan in coverage against Jimmy Graham. I think his role as a TE cover are as important as his pass rushing abilities, and would like to see him take on one of the best TEs in the game today.

Saints 31 - Dolphins 23
