Miami Homers - Was last weeks weak rush defense (1 Viewer)

I'd like to know too. In one of my leagues I waited late to draft a defense, knowing Miami could help me win the 3 point head to head bonus in our league awarded to the team who's defense allows the least yards in the game. They aren't a sexy defense but I thought they would be decent with the addition of this scoring criteria.

The Miami defense is still good and will continue to get better throughout the season.
Yes, the Redskins ran all over the Dolphins in the 4th quarter and during OT but I attribute that more to genius playcalling by the Redskins' coaching staff than lack of talent for the defense. The Redskins kept running 3 WR spreads late in the game that forced Miami into their dime/nickel schemes and out of their base 4-3/3-4 hybrid defense they like to run and do a great job of running. Since Miami would have their dime/nickel scemes out, the Redskins just ran it at them and before Miami could make any adjusments they were driving down the field in OT for the win. Another thing that can be added to that is the fact that since Joey Porter is relatively new to the team and still hasn't learned the playbook, he isn't a part of our dime/nickel scheme meaning Crowder plays in his place for now. As soon as Joey learns the playbook I'm sure he'll be in there late in the game when it counts. His abilities are key to the Dolphins' defense.
Also, Yeremiah Bell recently got injured for the season which should be a big loss since he was suppose to have a great season and many people were high on him but I think the competition between recent signings Donovin Darius and Lamont Thompson mixed in with Travares Tillman will bring out a decent replacement.
