Seahawks traded S Michael Boulware to the Texans for DE Jason Babin.

Boulware should immediately help a bruised-up Texans' secondary. Babin will challenge Bryce Fisher and Darryl Tapp to be the Seahawks' starting DE.

Saying that about a guy who has forgotten how to tackle and regressed in coverage each year highlights just how bad the Texan safety corps is. If Boulware tackles halfway decently, there's some value to be had here -- maybe a bye week replacement with some upside if the light goes on with a new team.

Brown was never moved from FS unfortunately. Jason Simmons had been playing in Earl's place.

I have been perusing the dregs of the free agency pool, looking for a backup safety for the better part of two years, so I grabbed him. I'm comparing it to a Pick-4 Lotto ticket.

Earl never really put up numbers as the starting SS for Houston, I wouldn't expect Boulware to do much more.
