Vick....sleepin' in his own bed....he's made his bed, now he's gotta sleep in it....have to Love It!Betcha Vick won't mind, either.

His bed is a lot shorter distance to the NFL than the one in prison.

Vick was a marginal FFB QB1 before this whole thing went down. He was just signed to a 2 year deal of the ww in my dynasty league. I figure it will take at least 2-3 seasons before he even starts again in the NFL if at all. I can understand taking a shot at him in a dynasty format but if it were me I'd have to sign him to at least a 3-4 year deal. I figure if he does reestablish himself by the end of the 2010 season you would want to have him on your roster for 2011 and 2012. Signing him to a 1 or 2 year deal makes him a FA right when he is likley to be worth something again.

What are you seeing done with him in your league? How long do you figure it will take for him to have any real value in FFB?

I am hoping to take a shot at him with an early pick in my USFL startup fantasy league.Seriously, I hope he is not welcomed back to the NFL. He certainly will not be welcomed back onto my team (and I bet he is losing sleep over it).

I heard Jamie Dukes talking about Mike Vick being "Recession proof" meaning whatever team he goes to he will bring in that team money and fill seats. I own season tickets and Vick has been heavily rumored as going to my team, I will not be a season ticket holder nor will I watch/support or even pay attention if he is signed and will go back to my team the day he is gone. Not sure about this Jamie Dukes or what drugs he's on.

Careful....2002 - #3 QB

2004 - #12

2005 - #12

2006 - #5

2003 he was hurt and played only 5 games.

That's all only relevant if he can return to that level. That's all about his rushing ability, as he had 750 yards rushing 3 of those 4 seasons and averaged over 4 TDs on the ground for those same four years. If he can bring that to the table again, then maybe he's valuable again.

:lmao: I just dealt a 3.13 for him in a dynasty league

where I have Brady and DelHomme at QB.

Small price to pay, imo. It's all about the rushing yards with Vick.

Guy payed his debt, and deserves another shot. Plus I miss watching him play.

I don't know you Chachi (maybe you work with animals or have another specific reason for feeling this way) but the comment above seems like a bit of hyperbole. Nobody agrees with what Mike Vick did but there are a lot of scumbags on every NFL team.

I wouldnt really welcome him back to mow my lawn to tell you the truth. I was being sarcastic about the USFL. I am hoping that no NFL team is willing to bring him back, but I have a feeling the USFL would jump all over the opportunity. While there are as you said plenty of scumbags in the NFL, that does not mean they should be welcomed back. I would much rather be cheering for decent people if they are going to wear my team's colors. I am with Chachi on this one. If he came to Miami I would have a very difficult time remaining a fan.

Welcome back Mike. :goodposting:

The NFL and fans missed you.
 Mike Vick was a scumbag before all this went down. Remember the Ron Mexico incident? Of course you do. Here's a guy whose legacy won't be the Ron Mexico incident. What does that tell you about him?

or flipping off the fansor rushing for 1,000 yards so his team could go 8-8

or causing a scene at airport security b/c he was carrying a water bottle w/ a hidden compartment

or his posse stealing an airport security guards watch

It was fun to watch him run around, but his accuracy sucked

How many wife/girlfriend beaters have been on the team you cheer for without your support wavering?

 The man paid his debt to society and deserves the opportunity to redeem himself.
He does deserve the opportunity to redeem himself but not necessarily in the NFL. He needs to redeem himself as a human being first.

I thought the state of Virginia was also going to prosecute Vick after he was done serving his federal conviction?
They prosecuted him after his federal trial, and there was a 3-year suspended sentence given when he pleaded guilty. Link

For people whose memories suck like mine does, here's an archive of Vick news articles: Link

I see your point - but I think Vick is an atrocity of a human being. Not that beating a woman is at all acceptable - it is not. However, I can understand how sometimes in the heat of a moment one could make a horrible decision that they will have to live with and regret for the rest of their lives. Again - I am not defending wife beating - it is a disgraceful act, and anyone who does it definitley tarnishes thier name and their team in so doing. What Vick did was excessively cruel and required planning and forethought. It was not a "heat of the moment" situation. This guy is a menace with a warped and dangerous mind. Spreading his herpes under a fake alias is disgusting and deplorable. Torturing and killing innocent animals is even more disgusting and deplorable. I cannot understand how anyone could defend this guy. What has he done to deserve any kind of defense? Served his time? Fine, he served his time, but IMO thats not enough of a reason for me to want him on my team. Fine for him to assimilate back into society now, but not wearing the colors of a team that I root for.

Aside from this, would you want PETA demonstrators out in front of your stadium before every game?

Vick is bad for the NFL - he bad for humanity. The guy deserves no second chance to represent a city or a team. At least not in my opinon.

Since playing in the NFL is a job, I don't see why he can't do both at the same time. I don't think he will redeem himself as a human being, but there really isn't much of a precedent saying bad people can't play in the NFL. Lately a lot have been given time off to think about it, though.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. However, if Mike Vick rates that low on your humanity scale then where does Hitler rank? Or Stalin? I'm not saying I agree with it. I'm just trying to add some perspective to your anger.

All I am saying is that he doesn't "deserve" a shot in the NFL because he served his prison time. This sense of entitlement Amercans have is really starting to get old.

I agree he doesn't deserve a shot due to prison time. The only reason he should get a chance at playing is after he can still perform enough to be of value to a ballclub. He's still young and if he applies himself, he can probably do it.

I agree. I would put it this way; if he is lucky he will get another shot in the NFL so he can redeem himself.

Sadly, there will always be people out there that root for people like Vick.

Lot of :soapbox: here. Unsure why. He paid his debt, so get over it.
Get over what? I dont want the guy to play on a team that I root for. Thats so terrible? I dont understand why that caused such rude responses. The only thing I can assume from so many people feeling that there is overreaction is that many of you dont know the extent and details of Vick's crimes, or you feel that the life of a dog is completely irrelevant and unimportant. I feel like any sane person that knows the full details would have no issue with another person not wanting Michael Vick to wear his team's colors - even if they didnt care.

He paid his debt - fine - he can leave prison, and assimilate into society. Does that mean I have to want him to represent a team that I spent my life rooting for? Let him work for a living like every other criminal has to when they get out.

I'll tell you what, next time a guy does these things to his wife/girlfriend I will not root for his team:Hanging until deceased

Drowning until deceased

Electrocuting until deceased

Shooting until deceased

Or simply grabbing his girlfriend by the legs and smashing her head into the concrete until she is lifeless.

And just to cover all my bases here, if a guy watches his buddy do it and laughs about it then I won't root for the guy who thinks it's cool.

Lot of :soapbox: here. Unsure why. He paid his debt, so get over it.
So you're saying that we have to root for a specific person? Why? Isn't this a free country? I'll protest if he comes to my city, I believe that's covered by the 1st amendment of the Constitution. Don't tell anyone to get over anything and expect us to act like sheep, you can say it but we are not required to do it.

Lot of :soapbox: here. Unsure why. He paid his debt, so get over it.
Just out of curiosity...If your daughter or sister was dating a rapist who was recently released from prison, would you be cool with it simply because the rapist had "paid his debt"? Would you be able to just "get over it"?Now pretend the rapist had herpes and used a fake name...but thats a whole other discussion.

Vick is bad for the NFL - he bad for humanity. The guy deserves no second chance to represent a city or a team. At least not in my opinon.
You're certainly entitled to your opinion. However, if Mike Vick rates that low on your humanity scale then where does Hitler rank? Or Stalin? I'm not saying I agree with it. I'm just trying to add some perspective to your anger.
Pretty far down below Warrick Dunn, Derrick Brooks, Tedy Bruschi, Kurt Warner, Larry Fitzgerald, and everyone else in the NFL who manages to be pretty good at football - and pretty good at being a human being, too.

I'll tell you what, next time a guy does these things to his wife/girlfriend I will not root for his team:Hanging until deceasedDrowning until deceasedElectrocuting until deceasedShooting until deceasedOr simply grabbing his girlfriend by the legs and smashing her head into the concrete until she is lifeless. And just to cover all my bases here, if a guy watches his buddy do it and laughs about it then I won't root for the guy who thinks it's cool.
Girlfriends are not dogs.

:goodposting: take your meds.

While we all have our opinions about Michael Vick the Human Being, he was quite an athletic Football Player in his first stint with the NFL, and with oddly circumstantial development of the 'WildCat' Offensive Formation as a legitimate tactic in the NFL Playbook, Teams are going to be curious to see what he has to offer as an Offensive PlayMaker.

As a frustrated Redskins Fan, I think about the 'WildCat' Formation. A lot. How you can have both Clinton Portis and Antwaan Randle-El on your Football Team and not run a single play out of it for the entire Season is absolutely beyond my comprehension. Then again, so are most things the Redskins do...but I digress.

I don't think highly of Vick as a Human Being.

I acknowledge his skills as an atheletic Football Player, quite possibly miscast as a QuarterBack, but certainly possessing the talent to be a solid contributor to an NFL Offense.

I think he's hit the 'Timing Lottery' and circumstantially has fallen into Golden Opportunity, if he plays his cards right, to be one heck of a weapon if employed in this 'WildCat' Offensive Scheme by some innovative Coaching Staff.

In the end, the NFL is in the entertainment business. In almost every sport I can think of, there have been, and will continue to be, situations where a talented 'villain' returned to the Game from an enforced hiatus, legal or otherwise. Love him, hate him, or just curious to see him or the fan reaction to him, he's going to attract interest, and put butts in seats...and sadly, in this economy, there's not an individual working on the sales/marketing side of an NFL Team who isn't absolutely salivating over the thought of what a well-conditioned Vick might contribute to the bottom line. That, I fear, is the reality of the situation, folks.

If he returns to form, he could be a Holy Terror in the open field. I don't think that can be denied.

Seriously, I hope he is not welcomed back to the NFL.
Why would you welcome him back to the USFL but not the NFL?
I own season tickets and Vick has been heavily rumored as going to my team, I will not be a season ticket holder nor will I watch/support or even pay attention if he is signed and will go back to my team the day he is gone.
How many wife/girlfriend beaters have been on the team you cheer for without your support wavering?

Larry Fitzgerald beats defensive backs even better than he beat his girlfriend.

I think people are going way, way, way overboard with the Wild Cat formation.
Maybe so, but I'd rather see teams running an offense similar to that or a shotgun spread with Vick instead of watching Greg Knapp try to force him into a West Coast behind the Falcons line without West Coast receivers

Funny that the best player on the Phins is a dip#### on and off the field.

Michael Vick makes Joey Porter look like Ghandi.
