Seems like Landry is the only DB out of this year's class getting any real discussion on the boards. What do people think about the other first-round rookie DBs? Any late rounders to look out for? Specifically, what do people think of Michael Griffin, the safety out of Texas, and Reggie Nelson, the guy from Florida. I have to say the Nelson never really stood out to me in college. Thoughts from the IDP sharks? Jene?

The Titans seem hellbent on turning Griffin into a Corner. I think that knocks him way down in this class of IDPs because youll have to wait longer to reap some production, and because it increases the bust risk.

Nelson is going to be an Ed Reed centerfielder, which might be useful for INT heavy leagues, but there's also a chance he was a one year wonder.

Id probably be hesitant to draft either of them. definitely wait until all the blue chip/upside DL DB are gone and the upside LBs

I agree with Sig. Very little good for IDPers when you consider the crappy talent-opportunity marriages that happened during the draft.

I think Weddle and Rouse are in the best opportunity, but neither are slam dunks to be more than DB3 anytime soon. Could be, but too risky to sell the farm over. Meriweather, if he somehow takes over the Belichick SS role in the future, could have upside. Daymeion Hughes has the potential to be the next big Tampa-2 corner success.

The rest, including Nelson, aren't worth worrying over too much unless their current situation (scheme/role) changes. Griffin is pretty much undraftable in standard leagues right now.

I am very high on Sabby Piscitelli, especially long term. I think he is the best DB not named Landry in this draft. He is like a Lynch with a little better coverage skills. Great athlete and very physical. He may take longer than some others because of the complexities of the Tampa-2 defense, but I think long term he is going to be very good. Don't sleep on him.

Yep ... I had Griffin 2nd to Landry, then they talked like they were moving him to corner and I pretty much lost interest I read somewhere, awhile back, Titans may play more zone, so that would be a plus.

Lynch is a decent compare + one part Archuleta - I agree with you about him being #2, but a few staffers have Weddle higher.

Meriweather will be solid.

I do not like weddle, at all! He's a cover guy playing safety.

Deep, Dark Sleeper ... Revis NYJ. He's apparently a tackling machine at CB. You could strike gold if he is similar to Barber and/or Winfield. I hear he could be that type of talent.

He looks great. Kinda wondering now if the Bengals should've taken him instead of Hall. Still early, but I've heard nothing but great things about Griffin since camp began. It appears that he'll start. He's lining up with the first team and actually seems rack decent stat lines for a corner.
