Some terrible posts in here. Not sure if they're meant to be an attempt at humor or whatever.
You mean like the one where some twit said his life was full because he was married 8 times?
No, the one that loved him in Our Gang.
He auditioned for Our Gang but didn't make it but many thought he was in it. Not an intentional Tanner with that I don't believe.

The Golden Age of Hollywood loses yet another and there really are not many left as Eephus posted. Rooney's career however was not all golden as you can read up on.

Born in 1920...think about it.

RIP

I know they're different people, but I never remember my Mickey from my Andy. Sad to see it was this one.

Loved him Black Stallion. But not 60 Minutes.

All of the principals from that amazing cast are now gone. Sid Caeser passed earlier this year. Great movie.
Damn. I had no idea they were all gone.

Most of that movie was filmed in downtown Long Beach. My dad's office was right next store on Long Beach Blvd to the hardware store where Sid Caeser gets locked inside.
Carl Reiner is still alive, though he had more of a cameo in the movie

I don't think this very often, but he was only 93? Seems like the dude has been 90 for a couple decades.

RIP - one of the all-time greats.

Unfortunately, while his early work speaks for itself, I think he's going to be remembered nearly as much for his unpolitically correct portrayal of a Japanese neighbor in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

And for Bill.

Yeah, I remember that TV movie. Haven't seen it since it was first on, but I remember him being great in it.

when i was a kid, there was a show on PBS Sunday mornings called "Matinee at the Bijou". It showed Golden Era movies from the 20's, 30s and 40's along with newsreels and animated shorts. A lot of my early movie education came from that show. Rooney, with his "Andy Hardy" movies, were shown. Remembering those movies - where he was just a kid really - you could see the immense talent he had. That boyish quality that he had then never seemed to be far from him even as he got older.

RIP, Andy Rooney. One of America's last few iconic links to pre-WWII era America.

I knew that was one of those movies that "everyone" was in. But until I read through the link, is didn't realize that EVERYONE was really in it! Even past the principals, it's a Who's Who of 1960s-80s sit-com televesion.

Olivia de Havilland (b. 1916) and Luise Ranier (b. 1910) are the two oldest Academy Award winning actors remaining.

One of the great Noirs just popped on- Requiem for a Heavyweight. Completely blanked that Rooney was in that.. so good.
