Mid-Low RB1s (1 Viewer)

I think this is a tricky call in this year's draft. Do you go for that low end RB1, or a top WR1? Guys like Best look more appealing, whereas you know what you are going to get with someone like Forte.

These are the guys I would take before any WR:

1. CJ2k

2. Foster

3. AP

4. Charles

5. Ray Rice

6. McCoy

7. Mendenhall (before McCoy if no PPR)

8. Gore

After that I think the RBs get shaky enough that I'd take Andre or Calvin. And then back to Forte. And then some hard decisions.

I really do not want to spend anything more than a mid-late 2nd round pick on DMac, MJD, or SJax. There is just too much uncertainty around these guys. I realize people put Gore into that category, too, but I do not think anything has changed between last year and this year except that his coaching VASTLY improved, and his offensive strategy will in all likelihood VASTLY improve. Moreover, his productivity hasn't suggested a decline, yet, and I don't see the injury he suffered as indicative of something recurring. And all the news out of the Niners' TC has been positive. And his backups do not present much competition (Dixon is struggling with power running despite his size and Hunter cannot pass protect despite apparently shining at pass protection during college). So I can't see why people would consider Gore a mid 2nd pick when he was top 5 last year. I'll be psyched to get him at the bottom of the first or beginning of the second if he keeps this low perceived value.

If MJD is healthy, and he says that he is, then he should be good to go and grouped right with Gore, Mendenhall and McCoy. McFadden also outscored all those guys last year and I don't see why he wouldn't be in that group as well. Jackson I agree a tier below at this point, along with Forte, Hillis, Turner, and Blount.

That said, I would take Vick 6th and you can see my argument for that in various other posts I've made in the past few days if you're interested. From there, I think I have it McCoy (7), Gore (8), McFadden (9), Andre (10), MJD (11), Mendenhall (12).

Re: McFadden, it's hard for me to get over my Bay Area bias and believe. I agree he is a statistical powerhouse when he is healthy. I can't explain why I agree with you re: "injury risk"/reward on guys like Vick and Gore but get conservative re: guys like DMac and MJD.

I'll get laughed at, as he has yet to prove otherwise, but I think Marshawn Lynch has a good shot to put up numbers to get into this tier of backs. Just below the SJax, Forte, maybe even better than Hillis.

HGH testing is going to hurt Hillis. Just sayin'.
 i'll believe it when i see it. just because some large white guy rushed his way to a career year for an NFL running back last season doesn't automatically make him a juicer... the certainty people use making baseless statements like this is ridiculous.

so you are saying that you would draft M Lynch before any of the top Wr's? That is the question of this thread, not who do you think will out perform their ADP. Your VBD is not working very well if you take Lynch in the first round.
