mid to late dynasty sleepers (1 Viewer)

I found a few posts on IDP sleepers but they were mostly older ones. I am sorry if there is already a current thread I missed. I am looking for mid to late round (say round 20 and beyond) IDP slepers after all the big names are gone. I find myself continually reaching for some of the big name IDP rookies and 2nd year players that I reall like. This leaves me with a couple players at each position that will probably be very good, but will take 2-3 years to develop possibly. I am looking for those mid to late round LBs and DBs that could make an impact this year. Any suggestions appreciated.

LB

Tulloch, TEN MLB - battled with Fowler last year and didn't put up great numbers but the d-line garnered quite a few tackles; unlikely to repeat without Haynesworth.

DB

Look for the guys who followed their defensive coach and already know the defensive scheme

Butler, STL SS

Elam, CLE SS

Leonhard, NYJ S, plus might get punt return yards

I'm considering Foote, what do others think about him?
I think Foote is a fine play for 2009 while Levy is learning the ropes. Just picked up Foote in my dynasty auction league for $4 ($1000 cap). I'm not sure how long I should sign him for though......but I'm leaning towards sewing him up for 3 years at that price and most likely trade him after this season. For other IDP's sleepers, at LB Gary Guyton (NEP) & Jameel McClain (BAL) immediately come to mind. I'm also keeping an eye on Joe Mays (PHI), he is the backup to Stewart Bradley and looked somewhat impressive in preseason last year. All were on draftguys tv in 2008 if you want a closer look.

I like Joe Mays (PHI) & David Hawthorne (SEA) as deep IDP sleeper LB's who were rookies last year. Both played very well in preseason.

Dawan Landry

Probably forgotten about by many, he was injured in week 3 last year and was/is the starting SS for Baltimore.

Jamar Williams is impressing in camp and could be starting at SLB. He is also playing 1st string MLB while Urlacher is out.

Not even in the top 85 in the staff rankings.
maybe they forgot about him too? or they have inside scoop :wall:
Yeah - curious if anyone has any inside information as to his injury last year and if he's still slated as starting SS for the Ravens this year...he's sitting on the WW in one of my leagues.Any Ravens-homers with some inside information? Jene?

Who else would they start ? They have Landry and not much else.

Good point...just concerned about his injury and what his prognosis will be / timeframe to be back to 100%.

Recent history of the SS role in this defense includes:

2008 Jim Leonhard 55 solos

2007 Dawan Landry 67 solos

2006 Dawan Landry 49 solos

Repeated instances of poor tackle opportunity in Baltimore.

Landry has only 1 sack and no interceptions in 18 games since his rookie season.

I think Landry is a solid player. But there's nothing particularly compelling above to elevate him out of the huge glut of DB4-5 and give him a clear place in the top 50.

:goodposting: Thanks for your insight as always - Jene.
