Yeah, supposedly its going through for DE John Engelberger. :bag: Engelberger is way too small to play End in Nolan's new 3-4 alingment, and thus has basically no value to the team. Too bad, he was one of the few solid guys along the SF DL.

He'll have a chance to put up decent numbers in Denver. To me he's a 45 tackle, 6 sack kind of guy.

Nolan wants Middlebrooks to be the #3 CB behind Plummer and Spencer (which means Rumph is definately moving to FS).

Given the fact that he has never had more than 29 solo tackles in a season, I find this unlikely. Also the Broncos will utilize a rotation of their defensive ends with Brown, Pryce, and Engleberger which will affect their value. If you wanted a Bronco defensive end you would be better taking your chances on drafting Courtney Brown.

Engleberger had 44 Tacklesand 6 sacks last season. This was in an end rotation similar to what he'll do with Brown and Pryce--until Brown inevitably goes down. After Pryce, I'd take Engleberger as the top fantasy DL option on the Broncs.

Of those 44, only 24 solo tackles. With most leages offering 2 points per solo and 1 point per assist that is nothing. Also, the rotation in SF last season was not all that much of a rotation with Andre Carter being injured for all of last season.

At 6'4" 268, he is an undersized speed rusher with not all that much speed.

The fact that you see him as second best to Pryce on Denver does not make him a solid option. Price will be lucky if he places in the top 30 at DE this season. Where do you think that leaves Engleberger? 60? In most leagues that is an undrafted player IMO.

You definitely can't discount Courtney Brown. Never mind the fact that he is perpetually injured. He is the most physically gifted and talented DE in that rotation and if he can actually play this season (he isn't injured yet) he will see the best fantasy stats.

The guy aint a bad player. When I say Englebergers's numbers will be better than anybody on Denver's DL not named Pryce, that is more of an indictment of the Cleveand rejects than of glorious praise for Engleberger. I don't care what scoring system you are in.

I play in leagues with roster sizes of 44, 53, and 60--he is on rosters. I don't have experience with small leagues, so you are probably correct in regards to those. While I agree he a mid-tier player, and he might be a nice bye week or injury filler this season (espeically for all the Brown owners).

Straight up, I'll take Engleberger over Brown every time, but when factoring in their ADPs, Engleberger = value.

Let me ask you a question, or a couple of questions:1) Does 24 solo tackels and 6.5 sacks warrant a starting spot, or even a bye week filler, in your league? 2) Will the change in scenery mean an appreciable jump in his fantasy stats to warrant a starting spot? The bottom line is that I can have Mr Ed on my fantasy roster but if he doesnt put up any real points for me he is worthless. There are only 3 ways a player has real fantasy value:1) Will he score points for me as a starter or a bye week filler? Probably not2) Am I keeping my opponent from scoring any more points than he would have? Probably not3) Will someone trade me for him? Probably not.4) Will he be a dynasty commodity for me? Probably not. If the answer to all of those questions is no, it doesnt matter what the guys ADP is...he has no value.

Good points. I agree with them all.I think where we differ is your question #2. While you see his stats going down, I actually see them going increasing, if anything.

I think he can beat out Brown. I also think that he is a good enough player to take advantage of opponnents double teaming Pryce and worried about the backers comin on a blitz. He will be the forgotten man and be this year's Bryce Fisher--quietly put up 8 sacks or so and decent tackle numbers. I really don't see Brown as a factor.

One thing you said in your post earlier was

I can not discount his injury history. I don't think you can predict injuries, but ignoring the past has proven me foolish more than once.
