Pros:

Playing TB, who gives up a lot of yards on the ground.

Bush dinged up.

NO no longer undefeated, so can afford to rest front liners without their getting "pissed off."

Cons:

Coach says the starters are playing as normal.

Bell not been a major fantasy force these last 3 weeks or so.

For folks struggling to come up with a decent flex player, does Bell provide any realistic potential?

I don't trust him because his value is entirely dependent upon whether he scores a TD or not. Look at last week's game against Dallas. He scored but he only rushed 4 times for 8 yards. Yes, the matchup is much better this week against TB but if the Saints score all of their TDs from outside the 5, Bell's value sinks dramatically. Even if Bush doesn't play, Bell could still wind up with 30-40 yards rushing, 0 receptions and 0 TDs. I think you're playing with fire to start him. There's certainly the chance he could score once or twice against a horrible team but his floor is also 1 or 2 points. For me, that's way too much risk involved in such a critical fantasy week.

I'll go one further,I'm considering starting both Bell AND Thomas against TB. They fell behind early last week so

my guess is NO wants to come out,run the ball and Bell/Pierre should have relatively fresh legs.

I have Bell and Bush and I'm starting one of them this week at least.

I play in a points only league so Bell should get the goal line work. PT and Bush are gimpy and fragile

Yeah, no S. Unfortunately, I'm in a league that locks down rosters come playoff time and due to a rash of injuries am scrambling with several risky Flex choices for our superbowl -- Justin Forsett, Antonio Bryant, TJ Housh, or Bell. Either way that flex choice is gonna be a risk...Personally, I tend to agree with the comments that Bell looks to be a big risk/big reward proposition. He could run for 75 yards and 2 TDs or he could lay a big, fat goosegg. :lmao: M

I like all of those guys more than Bell. I like Bryant a lot this week, in particular. All of those players are guaranteed to get you something. Maybe not a lot but they're all but certain to get you more than 1 or 2 points. Bell could end up with 1 or 2. I wouldn't start him ahead of any of the players on that list but that's me.

Depends on how desperate you are. His matchup and the points he put up in other good matchups this year warrant a look. However, he's really one of those feast or famine type players. If you buy into Saints blowing out TB and running the ball more then Bell because a good bet but if this is very competitive then I see PT playing more since he's a more versatile back and plays more during passing downs. With the Saints D falling apart, I'm a bit more hesitant to say the Saints will blow this one out of the water since TB has looked pretty decent with Freeman in couple games here and there and he might be able to take advantage of the weakening Saints D. So yeah, I don't really think this is a sure blowout but I think Bell should get at least 10 touches and goal line carries this game. That said, I didn't really research any of this since it doesn't apply to me so I can't give you projections or breakdown of carries or anything.

Given the Saints seem to feel that Thomas should only get 5-7 carries a game Bell will probably be a good play this week.
