Am I crazy to think that Mike Furrey might outperform Roy Williams this week? Hall will be locked onto Williams which should open up Furrey for more looks. I'm actually thinking about starting Furrey over Williams and R Moss this week. Crazy thinking or somewhat sensible play?

I like this call as well. I like Kitna and MF this week. If I can recall- the Falcons just had their way with the Lions last Thanksgiving. Big game for Crumpler but the Lions have the testicular fortitude to come back with the passing game this year. The Falcons are missing some key defensive players. Vick, Kitna -----------> Shootout......
Are we suggesting that Kitna is also a good play this week?

i would start furrey because the lions are gonna have to try to keep up this week.
hall will not be locked up on williams though.
atlanta runs zones and the cbs dont get locked on to receivers the way denver did against indy.
but having said that furrey is perfect for finding the soft spots in zones. he should get some looks this week

???Are you kidding? Why would talking about two receivers from the same team be perceived as a thinly disguised WSIS?If someone randomly asked about Furrey and, say, Jericho Cotchery - two receivers likely to be a person's decision process for a WR3 spot - that would be a thinly disguised WDIS.

Denver runs the same zone D-back scheme - Champ lines up on the left side of the D (right side of the O) EVERY SINGLE play. The Colts didn't move Harrison off his normal spot on the right side of the O.

Funny you guys are talking about this - I just received Bryant as a throw-in on a trade and I'm seriously considering him at WR3 - with AZ/Boldin on a bye, Galloway moves into my WR1 spot, and I was left with only Mason and Mark Clayton for WR2/3Yes, tough call. I agree with Marc. This is not a WDIS thing. Hell, what do ya do in bye week pergatory? Options get thin this time of year when the waiver wire comes into play.Furrey is worth discussion in my mind because of the matchup, not the What Up W/ My Lineup. The argument about Atlanta's zone D is solid, as is this board. If I had both and could only start one, I couldn't fathom starting Furrey over Roy. That's just me.
Hall is overrated in my book, and won't slow Roy down much if at all. Remember last season when he was against TO, and TO got like a ton of yards but no TDs, and Hall was bragging afterward about how badass he is and how he's clearly a shutdown corner? I do, and I would start Roy hands down over Furrey.

Without looking it up, I'm pretty sure the ATL Pass D is something like 6th worst in the league. I'm sure there run defense is better. Plus the ATl offense is rolling right now and will put the points up against the lions. So i would think the Lions will be passing all day to keep up.
I'm starting Kitna and Furrey. I couldn't imagine starting Furrey over Roy, but some might like that gamble.

Every TD thrown to Furrey this week would assure me +2 points. On the other hand it isn't worth aquiring him if he doesnt catch any TDs while Kennison and Henry do.

What are people thinking of Furrey's dynasty propsects?
Historically, the WR2 in a Martz offense has been an undervalued and productive receiver for fantasy purposes (Isaac Bruce.) Furrey doesn't have Bruce's pedigree having been undrafted and then bounced around the Arena leagues and even the XFL before the practice squad in St. Louis for 3 years. With the lack of WR's in Detroit, does Furrey have any longterm value at the age of 29 already? Rogers got cut, Mike Williams seems close to being cut at any moment himself. Detroit doesn't seem likely to spend another high pick on a WR considering how well they've done in the past doing that. His asking price is dang low as I don't think anyone expects him to be more than just a WR of the moment.

I think Furrey is more than a Patrick Jeffers situation:
-Jeffers came from nowhere & got hurt. Furrey isn't hurt.
-Martz's #2 traditionally performs very well.
- Martz brought this guy with him from St. Louis, and he's plauying ahead of 2 former 1st round picks, and Martz's old boy Hakim.
That last point has me intrigued...

Last year in STL, with Mike Martz as Head Coach, he wasn't even a WR. He was a starter on Defense.
