He s looked good in the pre season. Stewart injury could linger throughout the season, and D Williams isn t exactly

ironman either, Also there s talk of him being a situation Slot WR. What kind of impact do you guys see making this season, sounds like some major sleeper potential...... What are your guys take on this kid??

He's not startable unless either or both J Stew and DeAng are injured. As far as redraft is concerned I think he's a cuff only in all but the deepest of leagues unless something more concrete is learned about J Stew's foot. Kid's an immense talent, so I'd love to have him in a dyno but my enthusiasm is tempered greatly in redraft unless I have a Panther RB on my roster.

In redraft you'd have to be in a very deep league to burn a roster spot on him, but in dynasty I think he's worth making room for. Even with two first-round talents ahead of him, there's just too much buzz combined with some good runs on the field already to ignore him.

The kid is 1 Johnathan Stewart injury, cough....already happening.....cough, away from having meaningful value in redraft leagues.

If that Achilles is so sore Stewart hasn't practiced since OTA's, what happens the first time he has to explode through a tackler and drive off that leg?

Throw in that Stewart had toe and heel issues throughout the course of last year and that accumulation of injury to the same body region becomes a legitimate concern.

Those are odds I'd risk a late round pick on.

Better than taking a backup team defense or something along those lines.

Honestly, this is the kind of pick that wins leagues if it pans out, but represents very little risked if it doesn't.

Couldn t have said it better myself "treat88" you pretty much covered all the points why he could make an impact at some point during the 16 game season. I can even see him starting a game or two.

Another case of someone overvaluing third stringers playing third stringers.
Not really. You go into a pick like this with your eyes wide open. He's not a guy that can be counted on to produce anything, that's a known when you select him. However with a little luck his situation is golden and represents a huge payoff with nothing risked beyond a late round, replacement level pick. It's simply a swing for the fences kind of pick, not an overestimation of the kids talent. Not sure where the 3rd stringers thing comes in unless you are assuming that folks are buying into some kind of pre-season hype and overdrafting him.?.?

D Williams isn t exactly ironman either
Based on what?
:goodposting: He was obviously iron-man enough to accumulate 6,026 rushing yards in college. I've seen nothing in Deangelo's NFL career to suggest he's a greater injury risk than any other RB. Goodson impressed me in the week 1 preseason game, so you raise legitimate question about his future prospects. However, your efforts at belittling his legitimate competition for a role makes you come off as a wishful thinker who is grasping at straws. Don't kid yourself; Goodson is probably in the worst situation of any rookie RB in terms of variables which stand between himself and a featured role. Even if both Deangelo/Stewart do become injured, he's playing for a coach who has a history of using boring vets ahead of flashy rookies. For all we know Goodson would become a defacto #4 RB in that instance behind a guy like Hoover.

I don't see Goodson as having much value, if any. He went to Texas A&M pretty highly-touted, but never lived up to that hype. His stats went down every single year. He was injured part of last year (DeAngelo Williams is 10x the Ironman of Goodson), but also worked his way into Sherman's dog house, and struggled in a feature back role. Sherman's plan in the offseason when he was hired was to make Goodson the focus of the offense and even moved their "Thunder"-type back Javorskie Lane to fullback. That plan failed miserably.

While there are examples of players being more productive in the NFL than college (such as Willie Parker), I don't think he will fall into that exception. Even if Williams and Stewart get injured, I don't see Goodson as a feature back.
