With Peter Bourjos hobbled by a hamstring injury, the Angels will promote Double-A Arkansas' Mike Trout for Friday's game.The No. 2 prospect by Baseball America, Trout is a five-tool player with tremendous upside. He carries a .330/.422/.544 Double-A batting line this season, along with nine homers and 28 steals. His short-term staying power will hinge on two potential hurdles: starting every day in a crowded outfield, and transitioning from Double-A to major league pitching. But the Angels would not promote him just to sit on the bench. Expect some rough patches here and there, but in the long term he is a must-have in any keeper league.
