He was barely capable prior to his incarceration. Great athletic talent and he has a cannon for an arm. He just isn't very accurate. IMHO, accuracy is second only to reading defenses as far as what I want in my QB.

I'm going to qualify my answer first.

I feel he will be a better option than quite a few QBs...but he can't be there yet.

Also, some teams rebuilding don't need him right now...for example, if I was Tampa Bay, and I felt Vick was a better QB (right now) than Freeman, I'd still stick with my investment in developing Freeman. So under those types of scenarios, I won't list that team.

So let's say I'll go with the assumption that if Vick was a free agent right now, I would sign him to be my new starter over...

Really, he's a better option than Russell/Smith/Young...but the OAK/SFO/TEN have invested so much in those three players, they need to find out if they are worth keeping. So Vick is better than them, but I wouldn't bring him on board to start over them.

Garrard is too hit or miss, not consistent enough for a team that thinks they want to make the playoffs...and Henne just seems meh to me...maybe he needs more time.

Jake best years are behind him, Russell will never have his best years. Bulger still could be good with an o-line, Anderson and Quinn both stink, Freeman is a rookie with more upside than Vick.Vick would be a middle of the pack QB in the NFL. Vick is not accurate enough to be any higher.

If he's not playing how is he accumulating stats ???He's collecting a pay cheque from the Eagles, he's on the field doing something, but your right I wouldn't exactly call it playing either .. but still it is what it is ...Vick is no longer an NFL caliber QB ... if there was any hope of a realistic return to the QB so many remember from before his incarceration I'm pretty sure we'd have seen some sign of it ... at least a tiny little glimmer ... but no that hasn't been the case ... he's toast!!

You can tell that he sucks just by watching his limited plays. He doesn't have the same speed or athleticism (or even vision) that he had prior to prison. That was the biggest asset of his game. Will he get that back after a full year in the league? Who knows. He could very well be the Mike Vick of old next year (which I still don't think is anything special). As of right now, he definitely sucks.

Why are you taking his years with Atlanta as a reference? The poll is asking for how many QBs he's better than RIGHT NOW. Do you think it's possible that he may have regressed as an NFL QB since prison? He has played enough in Philly to understand that he's lost a step. I'm not saying he won't get that step back at some point in the future. Anyways, this is like beating a dead horse. Agree to disagree I guess........

The OP asks about now ... not the past or the future ... but the now ... all we can base the now on is his most recent (this season) stats and eyeball observation in how he's accumulated those stats ...Vick has looked absolutely lost whenever he's been on the field, he can't run without falling, he has no vision, he can still wind up and hurl the rock ... only his accuracy is more questionable than it ever was in the past ... he's toast, stick a fork in him he's done like dinner ...
