Apologize for starting a new Mike Wallace thread. The other one is heavily dynasty related, and kind of a mess to be honest.
This week both Bloom and Dodds have him rated somewhere in the 60s. That's kind of amazing to me. I'll be the first to admit the targets are a bit low. It is a bit of a gamble starting him because he's probably only getting 5 targets. However, he's scored in 3 of his last 5 games. He's got a 100 yard game to his credit as well.
Overall he's 29th in my league in scoring right now. Since week three he's been as good of a start (within fractions of a point) as Colston, Hester, Ochocinco, Steve Smith, Breaston, and MSW. Guys that have been 1-1.5 points better per week? Andre Johnson, Donald Driver, Steve Smith (NYG) and Hines Ward.
Using his last 7 games as a sample size, and projecting it over a whole season, you get 1012 yards and 7 TDs. (numbers that would have him finishing 14th among all WRs last year).
I'm not saying he should be ranked right next to Andre Johnson. It just seems to me that Big Ben loves to throw deep. Most of the time when he does so its either to Wallace or Holmes (moreso Wallace). Wallace had a couple very near misses last week for huge gains, and nearly had a TD. It seems like he's able to get behind the secondary once or twice a week. Beyond that he's usually good for a couple of 15-20 yard completions.
Almost all redraft leagues that require 3 WRs, require you to start someone thats a bit of a gamble at WR. IMO starting Wallace is an exceptional gamble.
