Mike's Bell value this week? (1 Viewer)

So what do Denver homers and others think the outlook for Mike Bell is this week? Sounds to me like Tatum isn't really in Shanahan's doghouse, since it was the RB coach that put Mike in for Tatum. On the other hand, I'm sure Denver will pound the ball to keep Carson and Co. off the field.

I know that predicting what will happen with Denver RBs from week to week is an impossible endeavor. But with championship week here for most of us, I had to ask . . .

:banned: I haven't followed the latest shanahanigans (for sanity's sake), but I don't get this.
According to Shanahan, it was the RBs coach who made the decision to go more with Mike Bell last week because he (the RBs coach) thought Mike was running better and Tatum wasn't doing well. So according to Shanahan, he played no part in the decision to essentially bench Tatum last week. That's the story.Edited to add there seem to be four scenarios at work here since we've received no indication Tatum's toe injuries played any role in his poor game last week:1. Tatum remains the starter and returns to the level he showed the previous two weeks, thus keeping Mike out of the mix.2. Tatum remains the starter but it's more of a 50-50 timeshare similar to the early stages of the season.3. Tatum remains the starter and does well but Mike remains the goal line RB and vultures any short TD attempts. 4. Mike takes over as the starter and Tatum becomes a change-of-pace RB.My personal opinion is No. 4 is highly unlikely unless we learn this week that Tatum's injuries have resurfaced. So I think one of the previous three scenarios is more likely to occur. Which one is anybody's guess which is why starting either one of these guys is a huge risk despite a very promising matchup this week. You could certainly hit big or come up small with either guy.

Thanks for the clarification. For all the discussion of Denver RBs over the years, this year has been by far the most perplexing. Every other year was much more visible in terms of the guy, or respective roles. It seems increasingly likely that the next top-tier Broncos RB (if there is one) is not on the roster.

It's basically become the Vikings under Tice where everybody gets a chance to play - often changing from snap to snap. Until that changes I'm going to avoid this backfield regardless of how much potential production is there. It's simply not worth the headache in my opinion. Until they get a real starting RB who Shanahan totally believes in I think the frustration offsets any potential gains.

But I agree that RB isn't on the roster at the present time. I think Tatum gets deal in the off-season. Just a guess.
