Miller over Wilson PPR Redraft (1 Viewer)

With Miller having ZERO threat of RBBC, does he now vault past Wilson in a PPR redraft league?

I say yes, unless you are getting points for return yards and tds. Then it's pretty damn close but I'd prob go Wilson.

Depends on your scoring. I'm in a league with 10 yards per point rushing/receiving, 15 ypp for return yards. With that scoring Wilson beats Miller by a mile. If Wilson is the primary kickoff returner again and splits carries with Brown 50/50, Wilson's a top 10 RB for sure.

I'm not sure what to make of Miller's situation.

A.Brown is as injury prone as McFadden. So it puzzles me why people are so worried about A.Brown. NY has conceded, same as Miami, that their young kid is the starter. The speculation is how much of a split there will be for Wilson. But in Miami, has Miller been anointed the starter (like Wilson has), or the bellcow?

People are assuming it's a bellcow role, but is there really much evidence for that? We're one game into the preseason and I don't see where anyone has promised that Miller is getting 25 touches a game yet.

The assumptions that Miller has no competition and Wilson does are still not that firm. You have media speculation in both instances which is being accepted by the fantasy sports community as if a memo was handed down from the head coaches office detailing carry splits.

I am pretty sure there have been numerous quotes from both the GM and head coach about Miller's role as the lead back. He has been running with the first team since the first OTAs. And they let Bush walk and didn't bring anyone else in. Plus Thomas is HORRIBLE. I think its a VERY safe assumption that Miller is the guy.

Situation:

Miller > Wilson

Talent:

Wilson > Miller

I believe Wilson has the type of elite talent to relegate Brown to part-time duty. While I do agree Miller's role is better defined at the moment, I tend to go with the more talented player when facing these choices. For me, that is Wilson.

And there were also subsequent statements backtracking on that, same as with Wilson. The noise has been strikingly similar.

The Giant's let Bradshaw walk and didn't bring anyone else in. Actually, the Fins brought in Gillislee, though that doesn't mean much IMHO. Brown, like Thomas, was already on the roster.

The big difference is the fantasy community's perception of Brown vs. Thomas. And I emphasize "perception". When you look at what is being done and said by the actual teams, not the pundits that we all too quickly assume to be accurate and tuned in, I don't think there is as much a difference as people think there is.

A lot of the noise out there is from writers who, if you look closely, are simply stating their own opinions with an assumed air of credibility that they may not necessarily deserve.

I really took note of Frank Gore's comments about Miller

""Lamar is probably the fastest," Gore said when comparing Edgerrin James, himself, Portis, and Willis McGahee. "He reminds me of Portis." Per the Miami Herald, the Dolphins "privately" believe Miller can develop into "not merely a good starting back, but a great one." If Miller shows pass-protection competency in training camp, he will enter the season as an every-down feature back.

I'd wager that if Wilson takes the bull by the horns, which is what you want, he will lose his return opportunities.
If Wilson emerges as the primary back for the Giants, then yeah, his return yardage probably decreases. But I'll take Wilson as primary back over Miller as primary back.

If Wilson DOESN'T emerge and is used sparingly on the offense, then he keeps his primary KR role and still outscores Miller.
